Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Nozome shook her head as she walked through the halls of the shopping mall. Normally something such as this would perk her up, however... Things this time were different. There was a lot on her mind to process, and certainly, nothing about anything made sense. What to do, who to approach for help... Knowing nothing at all, Nozome was at a loss. Even something as important as money issues seemed like a trifling affair right now. Specially since her life was in danger. "Sigh... Whatever can I do?"
Nozome sat down on a bench not too far from the entrance of the mall. To her, the usual bustle of the place felt distant, like if she was on a whole another world. Maybe resting and shoving aside all thoughts for a bit of time would help her feel better? Maybe even someone would come across her, and help her relieve the weight on her mind. It seemed unlikely, but hey, dreaming doesn't cost anything, no?

Death will greet you tonight.
Kaitou stared at the throngs of people milling about through bloodshot eyes. He was currently sitting at the edge of a fountain with his chin propped up on his sword bag. Since his last outing in the Shadowlands, the voice in his mind would not stop repeating the same phrase in its deep, hollow voice. While it did not necessarily unnerve the heir, hearing it non-stop all night cost him precious hours of sleep and he had just recently been kicked out of work for almost falling asleep on the stove.
Death will greet you tonight.
And again. The brunet stood abruptly, glaring around at no one in particular. No matter what he said or thought, he couldn't get that incessant voice out of his head. In the end, he moved to another bench, plopping down unceremoniously onto the wooden seat. It took a moment for him to realize he was not the only occupant-- sitting next to him was a blonde woman who seemed to look a little lost in thought... much like he was losing himself in his thoughts. Funny.
'Might as well say hello.'
Reaching over, Kaitou waved to the female to catch her attention (in case him dropping onto the bench wasn't startling enough) "...Yo. Don't mind the stranger talking to you all of a sudden, but you're looking a bit troubled there. It's not my style to reach out and help strangers, but I could use a distraction from my own problems. So, care to chat?"

Ringo walked around the shopping center. It was, on his rough estimate, about an hour and a half or so before he had to go to work today. Come to think of it, this was the first time Ringo went window shopping of any kind. Usually he'd pass by everything and head straight to work. Stores really have changed haven't they? Ringo just noticed that stand with the various cellphone covers....not that he needs it at the moment. Oddly enough he still only had those flip phones.
"...Yo. Don't mind the stranger talking to you all of a sudden, but you're looking a bit troubled there." Ringo recognized that voice. He looked over at the owner of it...and then looked to not far from him. A girl with long blonde hair. He walked up to Kaitou with a smile.
"Hello again Kaitou." He waved to Kaitou. Ringo then bowed over to the lady sitting next to Kaitou. He'd ask Kaitou if he was feeling better or if his injuries have healed, but he figured Kaitou wouldn't be one to answer that and he wouldn't want to confuse and worry the person next to him.

Nozome's brooding would soon come to a halt, as she was approached by a brown-haired man who sat to her side on a rather tired manner. With a little gasp, she addressed the other person with a smile. "A-Ah, it's okay! To be honest I don't know any people in this city, so everyone would be a stranger to me! But still, thanks for the concern. It's just that I've got a couple of... issues that have me troubled." Nozome couldn't blurt out her life-or-death situation to a random stranger, who knows how he'd react? Quickly, she switched topics to the closest thing on her mind, the housing trouble. "I think the biggest of them all is that I'm sort of running out of money... I was passing through this city as part of a trip through the continent, so I was supposed to be leaving soon after a bit of sightseeing. Thing is, that as you may see, the barricade happened and now I'm stuck in here. I didn't plan this, so I'm quickly running out of resources-"
Her train of thought would be interrupted yet again by another brown-haired person, this one younger than the other. Answering to the bow with a quick nod, the blonde smiled again. "Un, hi there! I assume you two know each other?" Things were getting more lively, and Nozome felt her worries slipping away, at least for a bit.

Money, huh... Kaitou gave a weary nod towards the woman, sliding his sword bag into his lap before leaning back on the bench. "Mm... yes, I can see that... Quite a few people have been taking to the streets as of late, most of them being passerby like yourself." He couldn't relate too much, though-- he and his cousins were far more well off than others and even if their assets were not inexhaustible, they could live easy for years to come.
Amidst the chants of death, a suggestion made itself clear. As Kaitou was about to speak up, a familiar set of spikes walked up to the pair, smiling in his direction. He gave the other a flat stare and a half-hearted wave before turning back to the blonde, grunting an affirmative. "Hn. You could say that. He's Ringo Shiro. A well-meaning guy... if not nosy and bothersome. And for that matter, I'm Nagano. Kaitou Nagano. Pleased to make your acquaintance." After introducing himself, he slumped back further into the bench, directing his gaze to the mall's ceiling.
"If you're having issues with money, then you're likely about to be run out of whatever abode you're living in, no? I have two suggestions for you. Firstly, you can try to find yourself a roommate and split rent while working. Jobs are easy to find in Mosaic, even if they don't always pay well. Alternatively, you find yourself a beneficiary and take a loan out from them. I personally know of at least two names that are reliable enough to not steal your soul if you were to borrow from them."
He was one of them, of course, but that detail could be kept hidden for a bit. As he had said, it wasn't his style to just go out and offer his hand to others.
"Un, hi there! I assume you two know each other?" The girl said as Kaitou gave Ringo a barely alive wave back to him.
"Hn. You could say that. He's Ringo Shiro. A well-meaning guy... if not nosy and bothersome. And for that matter, I'm Nagano. Kaitou Nagano. Pleased to make your acquaintance." Kaitou slumped back against the mall bench and staring at the ceiling. Ringo took a moment to see what was up there. Ringo bowed politely once more to her. I personally know of at least two names that are reliable enough to not steal your soul if you were to borrow from them." Ringo wondered what was Kaitou talking about before looking at her...and then something dawned on to him.
They were some people stuck here weren't they? People who would only spend a few days or so. Ringo thought for a moment. He doesn't know if they're any open jobs at the cafe. Even then would they be good enough? Ringo's thoughts were flooded in the sudden realizations. He scracthed the back of his head trying to remember.
"I could check if my work place has any openings." Ringo suggested. Though he wasn't sure how much that would help. It was a miracle that his job pays the bills...there was also the salvage sho-no...wait...she could just be a random civilian. Ringo had to remember that not everyone has that convenience.

""S-Streets, huh... Things sure are bad now." Nozome felt herself concerned about the situation, surely she wouldn't like being forced into sleeping out in the cold. She wasn't equipped for such a thing, after all. But still, she may need to consider that option? There may not be other option... Still, the strangers were now introduced to her, and she had to be nice. Pushing her concerns inside to be nice to the pair of men in front of her, she smiled and bowed slightly on her seat. ""Ringo, Kaitou, nice to meet you two! My name's Nozome Akimoto."
Soon Nozome's pains would be relieved, as Kaitou would give her more options. The first one actually sounded pretty interesting, and even a bit exciting! She always wanted to know how it was to have a roommate, and maybe she could become friends with whoever she bunked with! Definitively it was worth it to try her hand at a smaller job around, even if it wasn't something related to her studies. ""Un, that sounds like a great idea! The roommate thing I mean. I don't think I'd like to take a loan... I don't like having any sort of debts to anyone. Money issues can destroy a friendship and all, you know. I could try that!"
Sitting a bit more upright, Nozome's mind kept working in overtime. She quickly realized that she'd have to balance her job with... whatever may be these powers and what they implied. Plus, she'd have to hide that from her roommate, if she managed to find one. It wasn't gonna be easy, but it sure beat being all alone on the streets with all of her possessions on a bag.
And then just like that, another window of opportunity. A work at a café? That sounded pretty lovely, not too stressful. Plus she wasn't too hard to mantain in terms of expenses, so maybe it would work perfectly! ""Awh, you'd do that for me? You're too nice, Ringo! Thanks~!" Looking at both of them, Nozome smiled widely, and gave an even deeper bow. ""You too, Kaitou! Ehehe, thanks to you two, I feel much better~!" Things seemed much better all of a sudden. Surely she found the kind of friends she was hoping for?
