Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Layla could say it with reasonable certainty now. She was losing it. She was taking joy in the destruction of shadows, since it was the only thing lately that felt like an accomplishment. The slow moments and days seemed to stretch out to an eternity, and every time they happened Layla felt like lashing out at the first thing that presented itself. The only thing holding her back and keeping her from going completely off the deep end was the fact that she was conscious of this problem. It wasn't helping her get over that, of course, and that was part of the problem that had led to this behavior in the first place.
The most perplexing thing was how she had known she would die young for the last two years, and had lived accordingly. But now that it seemed so much more immediate, she was freaking out. She knew this as well, and yet she still hadn't found any way to move past it. Instead, she just went into the library one more time, even more on edge than last time.

Layla only had a couple seconds to take in the three Mayas approaching her before she went into battle mode. She pulled her shield and urumi from her waist, feeling her senses sharpening as she did so, then summoned Vajrabhairava behind her. Electricity crackled across the Terminator of Death's body from the moment it materialized. It raised one of its many hands, holding a vajra, high, then called down a ball of electricity down from it. If ever electricity could explode, that's exactly what it did as the growing, crackling mass reached the level of her head. Bolts of lightning shot out in all directions, cracking or outright shattering anything they touched. Bookshelves, books, floor, possibly ceiling (not that Layla could see that high up), and of course the formless shadows in front of Layla. All but one.
Inexplicably, one of the shadows was completely unaffected by the electricity. It retaliated with a lightning bolt of its own, which Layla was forced to take due to the suddenness of it. Layla was left to fish around for a weakness, trying light first, then the wind from her urumi, both to no effect. After that, she just gave up and used Elec Break to negate that resistance. All the while, she played a deadly game of dodge the lightning bolt (and occasionally freeze blast, much to Layla's dismay) until she could finally damage it with more lightning. The shadow hung on, though, and started to charge up for one final attack. Layla called down another explosion of electrical energy on instinct, finishing the shadow off before it could get that attack off.
