Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Before Layla knew it, she'd spent what seemed like at least an hour or two reading again. By some stroke of luck, she'd happened across another volume of the Ramayana by picking out books at random, and sure enough the whole thing was there. After that, she'd just spent awhile reading, and occasionally pondering in between that whether or not she should just take the books back with her. They weren't getting any use here, after all. And, while she hadn't been attacked just yet, it was still safer to read in the safety of her apartment than out here in strong shadow central.

A beast and a wizard. What a pair they were. One of brawn and one of brains, although the one of brawn seemed to think that it was both. It shot lightning at Layla the first chance it could get, before Layla had had a chance to do more than draw her weapons. Fortunately, it was very clear that the cat shadow was not built for magic, and the lightning did little damage. Layla countered by swinging her urumi at it, spinning, swinging again, then narrowly dodging a counterattack from its paws while using her shield to assist in passing it. As the shadow turned itself back around, Layla cut at it again, this time finishing it off.
All the while, though, she hadn't noticed the wizard charging up behind her, and turned around with some surprise as it released a huge amount of energy, calling down a beam of light from the heavens. Layla smiled, basking in the light as though it was that of a summer day, then turned her urumi on it as well. The shadow tried to get off a few more attacks before she cut it down, but it didn't seem to know anything else but light-based skills, as none of them did anything to Layla. Then finally, with one final blow, Layla split the shadow in half with Vayavastra, and it dissolved into nothing.
