Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.
Another trip into the tower, and Pyxis could tell even before she reached the barrier that had kept her from proceeding on her last trip that it was still there. So, whatever was keeping it there was still around. She just had to find it and deal with it, somehow. And if her game logic-derived theory from the last time held true, about it being a boss encounter of some sort, then she would have to find a way to draw it out. Once she did, it could appear on any one of the twenty floors between the location of the last barrier and the new one, but finding it would be easy with her sensors. She had, after all, detected the one in the hospital almost as soon as she entered.
"Well, fighting whatever shadows I come across seems like a good place to start," Pyxis said, scanning for nearby shadows as she stepped out of the stairwell and into abandoned office space.
And come across shadows she did. Three of them, at that. Or rather, three pairs, since they were Dancer types. They hadn't seemed to notice Pyxis yet, so she took the opportunity to summon Pandora and hit all three of them at once with a spray of needles. They noticed her then, and retaliated with light, darkness, and fire. Pyxis ran between them, managing to get the light and dark attacks to cancel each other out, but still took damage from the fire. She then turned her finger guns on the dancers that had used the dark attack and opened fire, tearing them apart with a hail of bullets.
The two remaining dancers continued their assault, attacking Pyxis with fire and light. Pyxis turned first toward the light users (both of which had feminine bodies. Curious, since Dancer types were typically a male and female pair), summoning Pandora to hit them with an open palm strike from whatever monstrous entity was hiding within the box. The attack knocked the wind out of them, so to speak, making their movements more sluggish. Both shadows hit her with twin stabbing attacks, but the female pair's movements showed the signs of exhaustion.
Pyxis then focused her energy, and a brilliant light shone forth from the cracks in Pandora's box and washed over her. The box continued glowing, however, even as more fire and light attacks were launched in her direction, until finally the box's lid slid open and something started to emerge. For a brief second, something appearing vaguely humanoid materialized, only to slash at the fire-wielding dancer pair and disappear back into the box just as fast. The supercharged slash attack cut clean through it and destroyed the shadows.
The female pair attempted to attack again, but failed to gather enough energy for another light attack. Taking advantage of the opening, Pyxis opened fire again and finished it off as well.
