Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Continuing through the halls with about as much care and concern as a person would walk through their own home, Sayu just sighed. The last battle had not slowed her down in the least. If anything, she could take from her composure back then that she was becoming more comfortable with the idea of being “touched” by those things. Naturally, she still hated them, from the smallest Maya to the largest Giant, but she could at least tolerate their presence enough to not try to keep a distance between them. That was good. She was making progress. No doubt, that Shadow would draw close again if the mute gave it the chance- no, even with no chance, it'd still get close. She needed to be able to keep herself calm when that happened. Panicking would just make her waste her strength.

Another pair appeared. With Tamamo already out, the girl just silently sighed and willed for a Maragidyne. The surge of explosive fire seemed extremely effective on the giant. Meanwhile, normally effective on the hand. The hand, like the small fry from the previous fight, opened with fire. How wonderfully useless. Meanwhile, the flaming giant charged at the pair. The girl shifted out of the way and allowed Tamamo to blast it with a second Maragidyne. The hand, of course, was still alive, but the giant was not. Why was this battle so similar to the last one? The only difference seemed to be shapes. And then the other major difference occurred. A blast of ice came from the hand. The girl had not stopped moving at all, and, with a shove from a fluffy tail, she managed to avoid the ice blast entirely. Then, willing for yet another Maragidyne, the girl watched as the hand burned away into nothing.

Sighing slightly as she verified her victory, Sayu continued walking. She had not, through either battle, effectively stopped her progression through the facility. She could call that progress in its own right. Nodding to herself, she began to turn around and head back. Her “practice” for the time being was effectively done. She had no reason to linger. It was time to maybe practice splicing tracks together. Maybe compose something new, or accept a commission over the city intranet. She didn't need to completely lose herself in her drive to kill that Shadow. The thing took something precious from her, but it didn't deserve to rule over her life. She was better than that.
