Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Now this was a strange problem. No matter how much Jaelyn tried to get closer to the main airport terminal, she was still stuck out on the runway and around the hangars. It was as though some kind of barrier was blocking her progress. She hadn't noticed it before, possibly because she always got to a point where she couldn't continue before getting that close, or being distracted by something in one of the hangar buildings. But now that she'd gone straight for the terminal...here it was. Odd. After a few frustrated minutes of trying to get past the barrier, Jaelyn finally gave up and made her way back toward the hangars. Oh well. There were, at least, still plenty of shadows to burn over that way.

Awhile later, a pair of what appeared to be animated turrets, one on the ground and one in the air, appeared blocking Jaelyn's path. She wasted no time hitting the two of them with a creeping cloud of darkness, but they were undeterred, and retaliated with a coordinated attack of wind and lightning. Both hit Jaelyn at the exact same time, bringing her to her knees immediately. "Sh...it..." she groaned, pushing herself to her feet, then using her Persona to boost her speed. The next coordinated attack came, and Jaelyn managed to avoid it. She boosted her speed again, and a third time, with similar results.
"Seems like if I avoid one of them, I avoid both of them," Jaelyn said, focusing a massive blast of fire at the aerial cannon. The fire disrupted it for a few seconds, but by the time both cannons fired again they were once again perfectly in synch. Jaelyn then hit the ground-based cannon, with the exact same result. In that case...
Jaelyn suddenly got an incredibly bad idea, which would have been impossible were it not for the fact that she'd just enhanced her agility three times over. She ran straight for the ground cannon, then jumped and pitched herself between it and its aerial counterpart. The two fired, but as they did Jaelyn just barely cleared their range, causing them to hit each other instead. Both cannons were destroyed by their opposites' shots. Huh. Apparently they were weak to each other. Who'd have known.

Jaelyn turned back toward the remains of the turrets as the shadows finished dissolving. Evidently, the guns had been actual guns, possessed by shadows, so the broken remains of them remained even after the shadows were destroyed. Jaelyn carefully approached them, taking a quick glance through the remains. Nothing of interest to her had been left behind, although the crazy lady back at the terminal would probably buy what parts she could carry back.
She turned her attention towards the sky, trying to determine what time it was. There was, of course, no sun to be seen through the ominous purple clouds, but the clouds themselves still seemed bright enough that it was definitely still daylight. That left her some time, at least, before she had to get back. One more round wouldn't hurt.
