Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.
The entire past month had been one extended wake-up call for Pyxis. Fighting shadows in the real world was nothing like any test back at the lab. There had been real danger back there, especially when she was forced to awaken her Persona or get killed by shadows, but even that, Pyxis had found, was mild compared to the real thing. In fact, although she had taken issue with the process at the time, she had come to realize that the researchers could have done far, far worse.
To that end, she needed to keep getting stronger. No excuses about being a machine with artificial limits would stop her now. Pandora was gone. Her box had opened all the way once again, and Elpis had finally emerged from it. That was proof enough to Pyxis that she could keep going beyond her original limits. And until such time as she found an absolute upper limit that even humans couldn't surpass, she would continue to get stronger, and be these people's hope.
With these thoughts in mind, she approached the airport at the edge of the city. This would be her first stop in the outskirts, out of how many it took to see and overcome all of it.
Now this was an unusual one. An aerial cannon of some sort. Not a common shadow by any stretch, rare enough that any data Pyxis had on it could be gathered from the shadow directly in front of her. A mutation? Or just a shadow making use of the tools around it. Either way, as soon as Pyxis had gathered that small bit of data on it, she opened fire, punching through the cannon's weak armor with a hail of bullets.
A pierce weakness? Interesting...
The shadow enhanced its speed in response, then started attempting to strafe around Pyxis faster than she could track it. It failed, and Pyxis caught it a second time with spread shots covering the entire area in front of its path. After that, it seemed to give up on evasion and instead returned fire, hitting her with a lightning-based attack. Although some of Pyxis's systems momentarily froze up in response, she pushed through the attack and fired again, anticipating an evasive action and aiming for the space around the mobile cannon rather than the cannon itself. Sure enough, it tried to evade, and ran right into her line of fire. As the last of the bullets punched through it armor, it fell crashing to the ground and dissolved.
And that was that. The cannon was no more, and Pyxis was free to continue. She figured she'd do a quick run through what was left of the currently open area, then move on to the next one. With a barrier preventing her from going forward, the best option left was the hangar buildings she had been moving around up until that point. That would be her next stop on this little tour. Pyxis grabbed the most intact-looking pieces of the cannon and set them somewhere she'd remember to take back. May as well find some things to salvage while she was still out here.
