Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.
Xain had decided to go train tonight. He had entered the Shadowlands and walked onward a while. He was wearing his typical leather jacket and jeans. His spears were concealed within his arms. In other words, everything was "business as usual," as the humans said.
After reaching a crossroads in the road, xain paused. He wasn't sure on where he should go. Normally he simply went to whichever area he came across first, but tonight he had two different paths that he could follow. He stood there for a while, trying to decide, when he had an idea. He could go down one and return to go down the other.
Now he only had to decide on which to go down first.

Kyle felled the Maya type Shadow in one fell swoop of his axe. The damn things were getting too easy to fight around this particular side of the ruins. Maybe he ought to start heading deeper in and look for bigger stuff to beat around. Actually, what he really needed was a better axe. The fireman's axe he owned had served him well for now but it was starting to show the crap Kyle put it through. The blade was starting to chip and he had the sneaking suspicion that the handle was close to breaking, given the force he put behind it to swing it.
Shouldering his axe again and whistling a bit to get Sitri's attention, who was lazing about nearby after dropping a thunder spell on the Shadow earlier, he wandered off again. Sitri growled in annoyance and got up, shook himself down and followed Kyle lazily.
Kyle wondered whether he was going to run into anybody else training out in the Shadowlands this evening.

Before deciding on which path to follow, Xain heard the scream of a shadow. He ran to the area that the scream originated, but the android only caught sight of a man walking off from the area. The male was being followed by a Persona, which only surprised Xain slightly. The robot smiled and wondered what the male was up to.
Deciding upon the stealthy approach, Xain started to trail the man. The machine had always been good at stalking, so avoiding the man's attentions would be easy. Xain climbed up on the ruins of a building and started to follow from above.

Kyle just continued his aimless wandering, clearly bored. He hesitated just a bit at the edge of what he knew to be the territory of bigger Shadows and after a moment's thought, headed in, followed closely by Sitri, whose interest seemed piqued by the change in location.
Seeking bigger quarry, human?
I'm bored of all the little fry.
Indeed, almost as soon as they entered, a large, beast-like Shadow shackled to a ball and chain it dragged about, showed up. It snarled at Kyle and trudged towards them, ready for an attack. Kyle, having already cast Sukukaja on himself, was quite ready for the bastard. He jumped aside, evading that slicing swipe of the Shadow and Sitri rushed forward, blasting it with a bolt of lightning.
"Aw, fuck..." Kyle growled, looking over his shoulder.
A few Pesce-types had wandered over and they didn't look like they were gonna leave him to his fight.

Xain followed the man until he realized that the male might be going too far for his own safety. The man continued to wander farther and farther, unknowing of the android stalking him, until suddenly a shadow appeared. The male had dodged an attack, but Xain was no longer paying attention to him.
While the robot was sure that the man could see certain approaching shadows, Xain knew that he couldn't see the one that was making steady progress towards them. A giant stone creature wielding a sword in one hand and scales in the other, the shadow would easily take out the male who was dealing with the others.
Xain needed to help. He quickly jumped down, swung out his spears midair, and impaled the first shadow through the head. The shadow crumpled and disappeared, but there were still the others coming. Xain summoned Dominion and cast Aeon Rain to hinder them. They weren't dead, but the android was sure that the man should be able to finish them off before long. If not, he would step in and help. However, they needed to do it quickly. The Giant was making good ground.
((OOC: i will bring the giant into play 3 turns from now. That gives us time to kill and prepare))

Kyle was surprised at the arrival of the new guy - where the hell had he gotten those spears from? He was a Persona User, but not one Kyle had seen before.
One of the dumb fish rushed him and Kyle ordered Sitri to attack and he finished off the Shadow with a heavy-handed Fatal End. Another Pesce found its end from his axe when Kyle swung it hard against the creature, sending it tumbling on the ground and he finished it with yet another blow.
"Hey, thanks for the assist," Kyle said to the guy. "Who're you and where the hell did you come from?" he added, looking around.
If the guy had been around there before, Kyle had never noticed him.

Xain watched as the male finished off a couple fish-like shadows, then started to smile when the man started to ask questions. He would answer were he able to, and if he was not busy dealing with other shadows.
He summoned Dominion and then cast Aeon rain, scattering Pierce attacks everywhere. He heard some shrieks of agony, which only encouraged him further. He finished his current group and turned to the next when he heard something. The giant was getting closer, and the sound of stone on stone was plainly audible. The robot looked to the other man and hoped that he was ready.

Kyle and the guy were left alone in the field for a moment but Kyle could hear the distinct sounds of something creeping near, the grinding of stone and the screech of metal friction. And this guy said nothing.
"Dude, I asked you some questions," Kyle said, a little more menacingly than he ought to. "Who are you?"
Normally, Kyle wasn't pushy about introductions but ever since Phoebe'd gotten all chummy with her pet Shadow, Kyle'd grown a little bit paranoid about encountering humanoid Shadows himself. However, this guy had a Persona so that rather eliminated the possibility. Phoebe'd told him that Shadows just transformed, they didn't summon Personas to fight.
"Okay, dude, seriously, it sounds like there's a big honking Shadow coming our way. So this ain't the time to play coy," Kyle snapped. "Sitri, give us a boost."
Sitri grunted lazily and stretching his wings, roared at them, causing a green light of accelerating energy to dance around them.

Xain felt a surge go through his frame. He hadn't been expecting the human to be able to apply buffs- he seemed more the "total offense" sort of person. Still, Xain wouldn't say anything to him. The robot just looked at the man with an unaffected look before jumping and climbing onto a building.
He turned and looked at the male before disappearing from his line of sight. The android had decided that it would be better to fight the giant shadow on two fronts. The man would take the lower side as Xain attacked up high. It was a solid plan.
