Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Well, imagine that! Jaelyn just might have found why this place was such a big deal. It was so deep, and the path leading down the sides was so long, that she just might end up boring herself to death! Wasn't that amazing? Amazingly terrifying? ...Whatever. Jaelyn was already starting to lose patience with the place, but going a little deeper probably wouldn't hurt. So long as there were shadows to light on fire, or eat with darkness...or impale...she could put up with it a little bit longer. But seriously, if there were shadows on the path at all, why weren't they more common? It was like someone had already come through and driven most of them into the depths.

The next thing to stand in Jaelyn's path was...a tower? Yes, it did seem to be a tower, at least as far as a totem pole of spinning faces could be called a tower. She summoned Caligula to boost her speed, but wasn't fast enough to evade a blast of fire from the tower. Not that it would have done anything either way, but...well, great, there went that option. Again. It was like someone didn't want her to light things on fire anymore. Fine, she hadn't stabbed anything in a long time, maybe she'd do that. At Jaelyn's direction, her persona drew his gladius and rammed it clean through the shadow's central face. As it pulled out, the tell-tale signs of a poison effect appeared. Well, that was...effective, to say the least.
The shadow's faces spun, turning the stab wound away from Jaelyn and launching a bolt of lightning at her. She was fast enough to dodge it this time, then rushed in to stab the nearest of the tower's faces right in the eye. Again, it spun, this time launching and successfully hitting her with a blast of ice.
"Shit, that means wind's probably next," Jaelyn observed, directing Caligula to stab again. This time, she aimed for the top head, and managed to knock it off with the force of the emperor's blade. Soon after, the rest of the shadow followed and dissolved.

Well, that was over with. The tower shadow toppled and dissolved into nothing under the force of...stabbing. Yeah, there was still something to be said for stabbing after all. Jaelyn would admit to that. Stabbing was what got her started before she learned to burn things effectively, after all.
Well, either way, the shadow was gone, leaving Jaelyn with nothing else to do except keep going or go back. But, she was already starting to lose interest in the road forward, so she decided to go back for the day. Maybe next time she'd get farther. Or give the mines another shot, who knew.
