Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Something else had come out of the last fight. Something surprisingly good. As Jaelyn rested, she summoned Caligula again to better sense approaching enemies, and felt it in her mind. She could now use a new, stronger fire skill. All the better for burning things with. With that knowledge, she felt better already. That was one step closer to Luka, and even the bitch with the supermassive star of a fire attack. So when she got back up and started heading deeper into the, well, depths, she was finally in a good mood again, for what seemed like the first time in a month. Or at least since the last time she spent the night with Sakuya.

Sure enough, a shadow soon appeared. It seemed to be an ordinary formless blob of a shadow, but something about it seemed kind of...blowy. Maybe it was the dust swirling around its body. So Jaelyn boosted her speed, and braced herself. Sure enough, a big freaking cyclone came her way, hurting her way more than even a wind attack had any right to. Swearing loudly, Jaelyn retreated to a hiding spot, boosting her speed again. Fuck, now she was at a disadvantage. The wind came again, but this time she managed to avoid it. Boosting her speed a third time allowed her to avoid the next attack as well. She quickly retaliated with a blast of fire...which did nothing.
"Fuuuuck," she hissed, calling on Caligula to nullify its fire immunity. Shit, was this thing sent as an assassin against her or something?! Why the hell was it so well equipped to fuck her over? Wind attacks, fire immunity, and it seemed to be moving faster than a blob had any right to as well. Swearing again as she had to narrowly avoid another blast of wind, Jaelyn finally retaliated with an effective fire attack. The flames rose up in a massive column around the shadow, then exploded outward, lighting a wide swath of the surrounding area on fire. The flames continued to rise, lighting up the darkness with flickering hues of red and orange. The shadow appeared to cower as it realized that it was actually in danger from the fire, but still managed to focus and charge up for one final attack. As soon as Jaelyn saw it charge, she knew that there was no way she would survive it if it hit. But, doubting that she would be able to finish it off in one blow, she started charging up as well. "Fine, you blob of fuck, we'll decide this with our next blow." The shadow unleashed a tornado, stirring up the flames as Jaelyn fired off more of her own. She narrowly managed to avoid being sucked into the vortex and made a run for it, as the fire spread across the ground, fanned by the windstorm, to consume the lone shadow within. Seconds later, the tornado faded, leaving only hellfire in its place.
Hellfire. That was a surprisingly apt description for what Jaelyn had just unleashed.

That had been way too close. Although still in bearable, if not necessarily good, condition, Jaelyn was well aware of how close to death she had come there. Narrowly avoiding that last attack had been all that saved her.
And yet, the sight she was rewarded with instead was worth the close call. She looked down on it again, smiling for what seemed like the first time since the last full moon. She had been impressed with the fireballs she was was dropping on enemies before, back when they were something new. But this, this was an entirely different level. Despite its power, the now dead shadow seemed insignificant in comparison. The blaze was even strong enough to light up a sizable portion of the 'floor' of the sinkhole, revealing several caves and tunnels leading into the walls. Maybe she'd go there next, once she'd rested a bit. With fire like this, and a space that small, any shadows within would have nowhere to run.
