Somehow, despite continuing to fight in order to vent her frustrations and get away from the thoughts left behind from the incident at the shrine, those same thoughts were starting to intrude again after every enemy Jaelyn defeated.  If she couldn't get rid of them that way, what then?  Was she just going to live with them?  Or would she just have to trouble someone else with them instead?

...Ugh, who would even listen, though?  She still didn't want to talk to Sakuya.  She didn't want to know how Sakuya would react to her worries.  But other than her, Jaelyn didn't have any friends.  She would have to come up with something.  For the moment, though, getting the hell out of this damned pit would have to come first.  But no matter how many times she made the climb, one look at it from the bottom was enough to make her not want to do it again.

A couple shadows showed up while Jaelyn was stalling next to the path back up. A lion and a wrestler. Nothing special about them. They were rather boring, in fact. So Jaelyn knew what to do about them. She boosted her speed as far as it would go, taking a couple hits at first but then managing to dodge the rest. Then, she dropped hellfire on each of them in turn, starting with the lion. It managed to survive two doses before dying on the third, during which it failed to land a single hit. Then, the wrestler managed to punch her in the face after the first hit on it, prompting Jaelyn to charge up the next hit, dodging a cross chop in the process, then overkill the hell out of it with an all-consuming blaze.
