Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

With each venture into this hellish nightmare of a world, Setsuna's confidence grew. Hell, she even managed to join the battle against that massive blob-like Shadow and not die horribly. Granted, she ended up not being particularly useful in that fight, but the fact remained that she survived it. Of course her parents were pissed at how late she was getting home, even with the whole "Midnight Hour" thing. Naturally, she didn't say anything about fighting monsters. She merely told her parents that she lost track of time and ended up not being able to stay at her friend's play. She wasn't lying...she just left out the rest of it. Even if she told them the whole truth, there was no way they'd believe her.
As such, she got off with a warning, and was forced to promise that she would at least call home if it looked like she was going to be out late. They didn't mind her being out so late, they were just worried because they had expected her home much sooner. Either way, here she was now, at what apparently used to be a car factory. Naturally, any machinery within this place was long past ruined, and the remains of the half-finished cars managed to make the place even more unsettling than it already was. Of course, half finished or otherwise, just about anything could become unsettling in a place like this. Bleh...whatever. At this point, all she really cared about was finding some Shadows to kill.

Setsuna let out a sigh as she continued to wander through the abandoned factory, which was every bit as depressing as the rest of the messed up world. She really hated this place, which made her all the more eager to become stronger, so that she could actually help the others put an end to it. Either way, she was already looking forward to when she could find some Shadows, just to get this whole thing over with and go home. Then she's take a nice long soak in a hot bath. Actually, Setsuna suddenly found herself wandering if there were any hot springs near Mosaic. She had always wanted to check them out, if only to see if they were as great as she'd heard.
However, before she could continue that line of thought, she found herself face-to-face with two Shadows. Perfect. One of them looked like some sort of minotaur, which Setsuna figured was a physical attack of some sort. There other one was...a large moving hand. Okay, that was unsettling. Like...really unsettling. As if she didn't already have enough reasons to hate this place. But whatever. All that mattered was that she beat the crap out of these Shadows so she could go home. Thus, she grabbed hold of her Evoker and summoned Undine. Time to test the waters, so to speak. "Mazio!" Almost immediately, both Shadows were hit with a small bolt of lightning.
The hand took some damage, but it didn't have too drastic of an effect. So the hand takes neutral damage from lightning, good to know. The Minotaur, on the other hand, was hit hard, bringing it down to its knee and struggling to get back up. "Ah hah~! Weak to Lightning" Technically, she was only half right. It was weak to magic in general, but she had no way of knowing that. Either way, she wasn't complaining. However, the two shadows were quick to to respond. Though it wasn't able to attack, the Minotaur staggered back to its feet before Setsuna could take advantage of its weakened state. Meanwhile, the hand proceeded to try and spear Setsuna with its fingers (Skewer). The attack hit, causing some pain for Setsuna, but it was nothing she couldn't handle.
She turned to the hand, and decided to try something else. Once again summoning Undine, this time, she went for something a bit stronger "Bufula!" Immediately, the hand-like Shadow was struck by a small pillar of ice that erupted from the ground. It was destroyed instantly, and with such force that Setsuna could only assume it must have been weak to Ice. Either way, that was one Shadow down, and one to go. Hoping to avenge its fallen ally, the minotaur unleashed what initially seemed like a blast of wind at Setsuna. However once it hit, it felt as if she was being assaulted by flying razor blades (Gale Slash). Despite how painful it was, the damage wasn't too bad. Some small cuts on her arms and body, but nothing she couldn't handle.
She responded in kind with the same attack she used to finish off the hand. To her surprise, the Ice was especially effective against the minotaur as well. So...apparently, Shadows could have more than one weakness. At least, that was what went through Setsuna's mind. Of course, once again, she was only half right. What she said was true, but, as already mentioned, this particular Shadow was work to just Magic in general. Either way, she immediately followed her attack up with a second Bufula, this time destroying the Minotaur. Setsuna let out a sigh. She took a couple hits, but nothing too serious. Either way, not too bad.
