Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Among the outskirts of the city was a rather fissure, caused from a sinkhole that finally caved some time during or after the incident of a few months ago. The fissure itself went downward for quite a while, with only darkness at the end of the tunnel. It was undoubtedly crawling with powerful shadows as well. It was also Luka's next target for exploration, having been satisfied with the progress that she made in the mines just previously.
She couldn't help but dislike the fact that she would still be going into a cave after loathing about the mine. Luckily, it was a lot more roomy and a lot less cold. So it was still a step up from her previous destination, despite it not exactly being her ideal place to fight shadows in. Though, that really should have been her primary concern. She should worry more about what she was actually going to be fighting rather than where it would happen. The shadows down there were extremely powerful. She could sense it. Perhaps she was just truly not afraid, then? It wouldn't be too odd considering that she had grown so much in such a short time. Why should she have much of a reason to fear what was down there? One could only hope that the girl wouldn't become too cocky of her own development as a result.

Her descent into the cavern was one she did with caution. The path she took was steep, making it easy for one to simply fall. But pretty soon, the the path evened out and she was able to descend a bit more safely. And not much farther into the cave, the girl was met with her first enemy. It looked like a giant of sorts. Realizing that she had the jump on it, the girl called out her persona. Hel. And then silently, the girl cast mind charge on herself. She would hit the unsuspecting enemy before it even knew what was going on.
She opted to use her dark attack first, for the opening. Firing off a powerful beam of dark magic, Hel hit the unsuspecting giant in the back. Turning around, the shadow gave an angry yell and erected a barrier around itself. It was something the girl hadn't seen before. Regardless, she began to charge again for another powerful attack. Maybe one more attack would do it? The giant then charged, and stomped on the ground with a tremendous amount of force. Enough that it sent a shock-wave far enough to hit Luka, knocking her off her feet. Slightly rattled, the girl began to unleash the second charged Mudoon. Hel appeared once more, sending a blast of dark energy at the giant, where it promptly hit and came back at Luka.
Certainly not prepared for it, the girl took the full blast of the attack. It hurt more than the other attack she took. Was that barrier something that reflected magic? She would keep note of that ability for later battles. To make matters worse, the enemy decided to let loose another shock-wave in the ground. Luka took the full force of that attack as well. She was reaching her limit.
With little more to do than keep attacking, the girl did just that. Bufula! Hel came forwards again, releasing a moderately sized ice attack at the enemy. It seemed to work very well on it, in fact. Enough that the shadow seemed to hesitate before using its shock-wave again. And that hesitation was all it took for Luka to dodge it. getting back up, Luka quickly ran out of the attack's range. Once safe, she turned around and order Hel to send out another ice attack at the enemy. The attack launched, hitting the shadow square in the head. On that attack, the shadow slowly fell to the ground where it began to disintegrate into nothing. She had only fought a single shadow in here, but she could already tell by the sheer power of it that she was dealing with something dangerous. Well, more so than the mines anyway.

Luka had taken considerable damage from that fight. Though in the process, she had learned of another ability that shadows possessed. A reflection barrier of sorts. Despite her dark attack working originally, it managed to be repelled back to her when the barrier was put in place. From that deduction, she could conclude the barrier's ability. The question remained though, if it would reflect physical attacks. Luka herself possessed no physical attacks, leaving her unable to figure this out on her own. All she knew was that such a spell was extremely dangerous for her if she was on her own. All the enemy would have to do is place the barrier up and suddenly, they would be unreachable. Finally, the girl climbed out of the shadowy sinkhole and made her way home. She would have a much needed rest after that.
