Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Well that was a fine mess she'd gotten herself into. In her last couple of battles, she'd scorched the ground so badly that any shadow remains, usually a cheap and easy addition to any bag of junk, had either been incinerated or twisted into something unrecognizable. And while there was something to be said for bits of debris that were fused together (hell, it looked better than most surviving pieces in the art museum), it wasn't good for much of anything, so she probably wouldn't get any money from it. So this time around, she had to put in a bit of extra work to fill up the junk bag.

While it couldn't quite be said that she had exhausted all her options, Jaelyn recognized that she had to get out of the pit and move on to somewhere else. Fighting shadows there was starting to get boring, and she'd gotten to the point where she couldn't effectively bring much back to salvage. Her fault, really, but that fact remained. She'd gone for a few other old standbys to get some junk to bring back, but still she was dissatisfied with her current haul. With any luck, someplace new would provide more and better options.

For once, Jaelyn did manage to come across a stroke of luck. She'd wandered into a house she hadn't seen before during a typical salvage run, and miraculously found enough remaining that she wouldn't have to trek across half the shadowlands this time around. Probably. She'd happened on some man's trophy collection. It seemed that the man was a sportsman, in the most boring way imaginable. He had whole cabinet dedicated to his trophies from golf, fishing, more golf, and just for good measure, badminton. They all looked to be from amateur leagues and nothing of great importance, but hey, someone would probably pay for them. If nothing else, the crazy lady had some strange tastes and would buy just about anything found out here.

Jaelyn hadn't had nearly as much luck as last time, but she had managed to come across something interesting at least. After a long while of searching and mostly filling her bag up with useless crap that could at least be worth the raw materials it was made from, she'd found a house with someone's old challenge coin collection. Why the heck it was sitting out, Jaelyn wasn't sure, although given the smell of death in the house, it was possible that the owner had been trying to pack it up when he got trapped inside.
Jaelyn wasn't going to think too hard on that one.

Jaelyn hadn't thought terribly far ahead during her most recent shadow hunting trip. She'd planned on going back to her usual routine. Go to place, fight shadows, pick up things to sell while there, and go back. All was well and good. Unfortunately, she'd gone and burned down most of anything where she'd ended up exploring. So instead, she'd had to once again actively go searching other places in the ruins for things to sell. And as it would happen, she didn't find anything interesting like a trophy or challenge coin collection. So she had to do it the hard way, and collect random, vaguely valuable-looking crap until she'd filled a bag.

It was around that time of the week again, but Jaelyn had dragged her feet a bit on finding crap to salvage. Her last excursion into shadow-infested territory had been fine and good, but more and more she felt herself just not wanting to go out there. She wanted to stay in the comfort of Sakuya's place and her arms forever. But sadly, even she knew that she'd have to get up and brave the metaphorical cold air. Even if she just ended up going to her shadowlands villa instead. She did, at least, manage to complete a salvage run beforehand. Although it seemed much sparser than usual when she was done.
