Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Layla had to admit, she wasn't entirely satisfied with her last run through the car factory. She had had fun, yes, but she wasn't fighting as well as she should be yet. Another full moon was coming up soon and, while the first battle could very well have been a coincidence, she wanted to be ready in case something else happened.
So, she was back.
The strongest shadows she had fought thus far outside of that battle and mission requests had been here, so they seemed like the most reasonable opponents. Plus, she had gotten a chance to ride one of them, however short-lived that had been. And that was also a good reason to come back. So she stepped inside the factory, looking for anything that would suddenly want to kill her on sight.

In what was quickly becoming a predictable action, a wheel-like shadow came charging out from around a mass of wreckage, intent on running Layla down. Around the same time a second shadow, a large machine that could be called humanoid at a stretch, with three-footed wheels for legs and spiked metal bars for arms, rolled out from behind Layla. Not wasting a moment, Layla summoned Yamantaka to hit both of them with a flare of light. The wheel, at least, was completely thrown off, and was saved from falling over only by the spikes extending from its axle. From there, Layla's battle strategy was already set. Hit them both with light until the wheel went down, then hit the robot-looking shadow with whatever else damaged it.
And if she hadn't already figured that out, she would have from the moment the shadows fought back. Hitting Layla with blasts of fire and darkness, they confirmed what Layla had already found out. She fired off another Mahama in return, sending the wheel spiraling off into a mass of wreckage where it exploded and dissolved into shadowy particles.
"That was fast," Layla said as it finished dissolving away. "I never even got to ride that one." The robot-like shadow, however, was still looking more than capable of fighting, and proved it as it charged her, spinning on the spot as it reached her and slamming one of its spiked arms into her. Another blow that may well have killed a normal person, under normal circumstances, but Layla only took minor damage. Actually, she could sense that it hadn't even been all that strong of an attack in the first place.
She summoned Yamantaka again, this time saving her energy and only hitting the robot shadow with a bolt of lightning. It, too, only did normal damage, but she could tell she was wearing the shadow down. One more good hit should do it. Just so long as it didn't...oh crap. As Layla prepared for a final strike, the shadow's spiked arms split apart and opened up. There didn't seem to be anything inside, but the moment they finished opening several impacts sounded all over the area. A second later, something Layla couldn't see slammed straight into her, followed quickly by a second one. Fortunately, those were the only two hits, and after a few more impacts against scattered machinery, the robot fell silent again, appearing to have exhausted itself. Once Layla regained her balance, she charged forward, smacking the weakest-looking point on the robot she could find with her new, non-training otta. As she pulled away again, it slumped forward, then collapsed into a pile of parts that soon dissolved into particles just like the wheel had..
