Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.
Getting through the rest of the first area of the tower was easy enough. Shadows were, still, few and far between, but the signs of battle were many. It seemed that, because of that, the majority of the shadows in the lowest distinct section had either already been destroyed or dispersed. Most of the readings Pyxis was receiving were from higher up. So, Pyxis sought out the stairs and began to climb. As she did, the readings again became more numerous. So after several floors, she stepped out of the stairwell and began searching again. There would be more shadows here, not to mention stronger ones. This would be a good place to start.
A Tower type (fitting) and a Gigas type this time. Going back over available data, Pyxis noted that Gigas types were typically resistant to blunt force attacks, while Towers...well, Towers varied. Her best bet was going to be to incapacitate one while dealing with the other, then to come back to finish the first one off. With that in mind, she summoned Pandora to hit the Tower type with a Dream Fist. The fist in question, an ethereal one that emerged from within a box much too small for it, slammed straight into the Tower. It slumped over and became unresponsive, but remained intact. Meanwhile, the Gigas buffed itself with a wave of empowering energy.
Pyxis turned her attention on it as it did, priming her weapons. She pointed both arms toward the Gigas and opened fire, hitting it with a spray of bullets that punched straight through its armored body, sending it off balance and falling to the ground. It slowly managed to get back to its feet, and lashed out with a counterattack, but even with the extra force behind it barely managed to do anything to Pyxis's own armor. A second shot later, and the Gigas was...well, down for the count.
And stayed down until it dissolved, while the Tower...continued to sleep. Pyxis turned her weapons on it and fired again, doing considerably less damage than to the weak-to-bullets Gigas and managing to wake it up. Its three sections spun until the faces on each aligned, and a bolt of lightning shot from the top of the tower to strike Pyxis. For a second, her systems completely locked up. Without motor functions, she lost balance and fell. By the time everything returned to normal, she was on the ground looking back up at the tower. She summoned Pandora again, hoping to put it back to sleep with a second Dream Fist...but instead, that was enough to finish the shadow off, and it too dissolved into particles.
