Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Another full moon, another heated battle with a shadow even more monstrous and bizarre than usual. Another incident where Layla probably should have died, but miraculously didn't. It had been much stronger than the last, but Layla too had been stronger. And she would have to keep getting stronger, if she wanted to survive in the future.
So here she was, wandering out to the far reaches of the outer circle again. And what did Layla encounter there, but an old abandoned mine. If her previous experience continued to hold true, this would turn out to be a nest of shadows, just like the sewers and the car factory were. A good place to test how far she had come, then. With that in mind, she started to make her way inside.

Layla wasn't all that far in before she ran into a familiar face. Another wrestler-looking shadow. This one, however, had black wiry hair and was holding a large pickaxe. This time, Layla wasted no time waiting for it to attack first, and immediately took the initiative by summoning Yamantaka and launching a bolt of lightning at it. It clearly wasn't weak to it, judging from the way it easily recovered from the sudden shock, but it hadn't just shrugged off the attack either. It retaliated by swinging its pickaxe once, then a second time, catching Layla with both swings. They were fairly light, but still hit her rather hard for the wrestler shadow's sheer strength. Layla managed to recover fairly quickly as well, however, and retaliated with a second bolt of lightning.
This time, the shadow dropped its pickaxe while momentarily stunned. Not bothering to pick it back up, it instead opted to hit Layla with a full body charge. She was knocked over by the blow, but managed to break her fall to avoid getting hurt any more than what the attack already did. The wrestler shadow then stepped back, putting some distance between itself and Layla as she got back to her feet. And called down a third lightning strike on it.
Miraculously, even after the third hit, the wrestler shadow was still standing, but looking considerably worse for wear. It tried to charge again, stumbling forward as it did. Layla still didn't manage to avoid it, but this time she stayed standing and recovered even more quickly. One more bolt of lightning later, and the shadow collapsed and dissolved.

And like that, Layla was already done. The wrestler shadow had been stronger than most of what she had fought in the outer circle, but it had still gone down fairly easily. She was getting better at this. That said, though, she had still taken a few heavy hits. She summoned Yamantaka again to heal herself, then caught sight of something lying on the ground where the wrestler shadow had been before dissolving. "What's this?" Layla asked, picking it up. It looked like it could attach to a weapon, and had a heart-shaped emblem on one side, but other than that she had no idea what to make of it. "I guess I'll get it looked at later," she said, pocketing it and continuing into the mine.
