A strange sound whistled past Seiji's ears, like the howling of the wind. Despite it being nighttime, he still wore his school uniform, whether out of lazyness or habit. Blankly, he gazed at the landscape around him. When he had first arrived in Mosaic City, he had passed through this part of the city. It had been beautiful then, the building a few blocks away looming like a sentinel, a symbol for the whole city to admire. To the innocent mass still sleeping soundly at night, it remained that symbol. A few knew the truth of what lay beyond the blockade. One of those few (unfortunately) was Seiji. Checking his watch, he saw that the hour was 9 P.M. He had about two hours to explore before he turned back for home. He liked to shower and get into bed before 1 A.M. if at all possible. Chewing on the side of his cheeks, he breathed heavily as he approached the building proper. The executive building pierced the sky, looming like a dark tower overhead in its downtrodden form. Perhaps some clue as to what was going on waited for him in the building above. Tensing his hands, he began searching for a way into the building.
The front entrance was locked. Whatever kind of being had morphed this place, it certainly had a sense of humor. It was quite...game-like how the obvious way inside was blocked off. Circling the building while constantly on the lookout for shadows, he noticed that there was nothing past any of the windows except darkness. They weren't the way inside but he still checked to see if they were locked all the same. It wasn't long before he found a window that was already open. Several, actually. The windows were slightly elevated, meaning Seiji had to pull himself up. Crawling inside, he took a bottle of water from his backpack and had a nice, deep drink. There was no use in exploring this place while being dehydrated. He had no idea what the building had been used for before the blockade, but the ground floor seemed pretty standard for a skyscraper. The room he was in resembled some sort of manager's office with an important looking desk and chair. Turning back, he gave one last look up at the ominous purple sky before stepping outside, finding himself in a side hall by the lobby.
Seiji wasn't nervous, per se, but he didn't like the idea of being ambushed by shadows when he didn't even have a weapon. He had to trust in his Persona. As if on cue, a card appeared out of the air, hovering above his hand as it had done on the first night he awakened to his power. On one side was a mask, half black, half white, and on the other was a picture of Sir Gareth. To this day, he didn't know how he knew the name. The knowledge was just...there. Each footstep echoed through the hall. As he moved, the card constantly stayed above his hand, ready to be summoned at a moment's notice. His instincts told him that summoning the Persona would probably arouse the attention of the shadows. Perhaps they were already there, watching. Waiting for him to let his guard down. It wasn't long before he'd found his way to the lobby, setting his sights on a set of stairs leading to the second floor, he set off immediately. It was only then that he felt the presence of something drawing closer...
