Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Floating castle? Nope, that didn't seem possible at the moment. I guess the next best place would be this... Thing. Place. I had traversed to the outer boundaries of the wall that kept us boxed in like cattle. Discussing with Layla things regarding next possible courses of action had been, for the most part, productive. This area seemed nothing like the mines I had been to with Chidori. It looked more like the gateway to a devilish abyss. I wasn't with Chidori, either, so I was on my own for this time. My weaponry was, for the most part, greatly improved, though. Unfortunately I lacked some avenues for attack, but I supposed I would get stronger if I explored and took out anything unsavoury down here. Sighing, I made my way down the mysterious chasm and into the abyss.
If you stare long enough at the abyss, it stares back at you. Ominous thoughts reverberated in my mind. I couldn't tell if it was really me or if it was just my aspect, Shax, trying to be snarky and intimidating. Either way, it was a completely different environment than what I was used to. Nanatsu-Yoru and my bow were both close with me. Let's get going. Maybe we'll find answers down here. Or... If nothing else, I'll get more battle experience. Sigh.

I continued my way down the dark chambers of this seemingly labyrinthine cavern. I looked around, my visibility seemed greatly hampered. Regardless, the power of Shax helped me to have some slight visibility, more than the typical human - if the typical human would even be brave enough to step foot inside. Regardless, I couldn't relax for too long, as I felt an awfully familiar, but awfully terrible presence within. "You've got to be shitting me," I said to myself before I saw two large red eyes glimmer in the distance. Upon slightly closer inspection, I realized it was a mask Shadow, similar to those I had encountered in the terminal... only it was abnormally[/i] large. I cursed under my breath and pulled out my bow. It saw me, but didn't seem to make a move yet. I shot an arrow at it and realized that my arrow, while sticking itself into the large Maya, only caused it to wail in anger.
It was weak to my arrows. However, my inner realization would be short-lived as it retaliated with a great flame from its mouth, engulfing me in fire, as I realized the only people I had seen cast this spell until now were only allies. Crying out in pain I realized a good chunk of my body had become charred and singed. Kneeling I raised my bow again and shot another arrow at the Shadow. It landed in its eye hole thing, causing it to wail even louder, and it turned itself around, revealing a gigantic fist being thrown out from its hollow back. Taken by surprise, I had been smacked by the fist, causing me to be thrown into the side. Yet, honestly, being thrown into the cavern walls hurt more than the fist itself.
I'm hardy when it comes to fisticuffs. So it seems, Shax. Standing up, I shot another arrow at the Maya. It landed in its other eye. Spasming and shivering, it once again shot a blazing ball of flame at me. I had to face tank it; the flames were too much for me to protect myself against. Shivering and kneeling again as I panted, I deeply regretted not modding some armor with the resistance trinket I bought from Ran all those weeks ago. Again, I stood up, hobbling, and raised my bow at the Maya. Shot another arrow. Landed on the lip engraving. It roared, and this time I swore I saw its lips move. A sword materialized from its mouth and it swung itself around, creating a deadly wave of energy that sliced into me.
It drew blood on my arms and legs, causing me to wince and squeal. An eye shut, I aimed at the Maya and shot another arrow at it. It landed straight into its forehead, where a prominent gem stood. It cracked and shattered, and with that, the Maya collapsed, broke, and started to dissipate. Leaning into the wall, I sighed. "They're getting stronger, and stronger. I need to improve so I can keep up."
