Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Somehow, in her wanderings, Jaelyn had managed to make it back to the airport. The first she had ever seen of Mosaic City, now covered in creepy fog and full of monsters. It was easy to have a low opinion of the city just from seeing it again like this. She had, after all, spent two years trying to stumble through living on her own, only for everything to go wrong just as she thought she was getting the hang of it. But she couldn't hate it anymore. Not after meeting Sakuya or, really, much of anything else that had happened recently.
She could, however, light shadows on fire for ruining half of it. She could do as much of that as she wanted.

Birds. Of course there would be birds at an airport. Conveniently color-coded, too. One white bird, one black bird. The white bird had a halo-like crest, the black bird's crest was much more jagged. It didn't take a genius to figure out what was probably weak to what. Only having one of those options, though, Jaelyn decided to focus on the white bird first. She summoned Andras and engulfed both of the birds in a mass of darkness. Sure enough, the white bird nearly fell out of the sky, while the black bird didn't seem to be affected at all. Both of them dived on Jaelyn, stabbing at her with their talons. Jaelyn summoned a mass of darkness again, engulfing the white bird again while the black bird just ignored it. And then they did it all over again, with the birds stabbing at her and Jaelyn making a cloud of darkness eat the white bird. Oh, that one finished the white bird off.
"Now, you," Jaelyn said, turning to the black bird. "You seem to have some experience with hell. So you should have no problem with this." A mass of flames materialized in Andras's hands, then sprayed from them and washed over the black bird. As the fire faded, Jaelyn could see that, while it hadn't been as adversely affected as the white bird had been when hit by darkness, its wings were burnt in several places and smoke was still rising off it. "Evidently not," Jaelyn said, flashing an unsettling grin. "That's good to hear." The bird retaliated with a mass of darkness of its own, which washed over Jaelyn and left her disoriented for a few seconds. During that time, she felt like something was trying to eat away at her. And, had she been much weaker, it might have succeeded. But as it cleared, she was still standing. She wasted no time summoning Andras and lighting the bird on fire again. This time, the flames were still burning as it launched its counterattack, diving on Jaelyn while on fire and stabbing at her with everything pointy it had. Talons, beak, particularly jagged feathers. It attacked relentlessly...or tried to, at least, but as soon as it started Jaelyn pierced its body with her own pointed implement: one of her karambits. The bird fell to the ground, still on fire as it started to dissolve.

As the black bird finished dissolving, Jaelyn felt something fall on her foot. She recoiled immediately, looking down with an expression of 'what the hell was that'. In doing so, she caught sight of...was that part of an armor plate? Or was it just scrap metal? She wasn't sure, but it looked shiny enough to potentially be worth something. So, at the very least, she could take it back in case anyone wanted it. Picking it up, Jaelyn hid it under her dress, awkwardly shifting it several times so that it wasn't trying to cut into her bare skin. Once that was finally taken care of, she glanced around at the nearby buildings. The terminal was all the way across the runways from where she was, while the nearest building was the airplane hangar. Well, it was worth a look, at least. If nothing else, she could try flying a plane out once she was done.
