Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Jonathon walked into the Queen's Arch District, admiring it. He'd been here a couple of times before, but usually just to get through it quick. Classes were over for the day and he didn't really feel like fighting shadows today, so he figured he could do a semi-normal thing for people his age. Going to the mall, or whatever they called it here... He sat down on the edge of a fountain and looked around. He didn't particularly want to buy anything, but he did enjoy people watching. Seeing everyone that goes by, watching the little drama that went on and just the little silly things. It was something that gave him a sort of get away from thinking about the situation the world was in and thinking about his own shortcomings.

School had just gotten out at East Mosaic High, and many students could be found walking the streets of the city. Among them today was Luka, in a rather unexpected turn of events. The girl had been invited to go shopping at the mall with Holly. The rather tall blonde girl had actually met her during a mall trip of her own, but the two of them ending up spending the rest of their trip together. She would later learn that the girl was in fact a Persona-user as well.
As for today, the two of them had just reached the mall together. Luka was wearing her usual skirt with thigh-highs and a light blue jacket covering the top half of her body. And of course, her iconic black-blue scarf was worn over top of it. She wondered what was on the agenda for the day, so she decided to ask Holly. So, any plans for today?

Holly didn't have any plans today, and the world decided not to surprise her with something exciting, so she decided to create her own fun. There was a new line of jewelry being released at the mall, or rather, it was released a few days ago and the irritating crowds probably would have died down by now. She had a soft spot for jewelry and shiny objects in general, but these gems sounded particularly interesting. Apparently the gems were several different colors at once and it didn't even depend on the light. It sounded interesting and she couldn't resist checking it out.
Naturally she couldn't just go alone though. It's not like she was shopping for anything weird today that she didn't want to have to explain, and shopping alone was just dull and mostly for people that couldn't get anyone to come with them in the first place. Thus, Holly chose to invite one of the persona users she hadn't gotten to know very well yet: a fairly quiet girl called Luka. Having a good ally in battle certainly couldn't hurt, and Holly liked pulling people out of their shells.
Holly's ensemble contrasted with most of the people at the mall today. It was very obviously custom tailored (as all her clothing was) to fit her body perfectly even if it was fairly casual. She just wore a simple pair of black slacks, as she felt jeans not only looked terrible but were horribly uncomfortable, with a plain red sweater. On her feet were a pair of lace-up winter boots to keep her feet warm. It was all just practical winter wear, but she thought she still looked awesome in it.
"Do you like jewelry? I'm interested in checking out some new stuff that debuted recently. If the gems are half as pretty as they were in the advertisement I'll probably pick up a few."

Jonathon glanced over his shoulder into the fountain, noticing all the coins. Much like the people in this city, there were coins from every where, Jonathon even thought he saw an arcade token or two which was odd. Shrugging it off he looked back to the people walking by and gasped a little. Holly was there, she was with the little girl that Jonathon had crossed paths with before at the big shadow fights. But mostly he was surprised to see Holly there. Sure she had a life and was allowed, but she wasn't someone he was planning on seeing today, seeing as he had a habit of making a fool of himself in front of her. He feared this time he'd wind up in the fountain knowing his luck. For now though, he just sat on the edge of the fountain, waiting to see if they noticed him.

Jewelry? Luka looked up at the girl as she spoke. Luka never wore jewelry. Ever. It wasn't that she disliked wearing jewelry, but she was never really exposed to such interests. She didn't understand the appeal in them, per say. Well, I can't say I've ever worn jewelry. I mean. . . I don't think jewelry looks bad though. But now that she thought about it, Luka had seen many girls wear jewelry all the time. She might even dare to say that she thought it looked quite pretty on them. Was this another thing that she was missing in terms of common sense perhaps? She might have to bring it up some time during her common sense lessons. I wouldn't mind looking around with you though. A smile formed on her face.
With her faced turned that way, the girl was able to pick up on another familiar face across from her. That boy from the train fight, and the subsequent meeting that Alisa called her to. Noticing a gasp come from him, she could only assume that she was spotted. She quickly averted her eyes and hid behind Holly. T-That scary guy is here. . . Recalling the meeting called together by Alisa, the boy had (at least, in Luka's eyes) freaked out upon seeing her. Needless to say, she was quite afraid of him. The last time I saw him, I think he tried to do something scary to me. She lightly clung to Holly's back, feeling at least a bit safer.

"I don't wear jewelry as much as I used to, but I still like collecting gems. The new line is supposed to be pretty interesting, so let's--"
Before she could say 'go' Luka ran behind her and started clinging to her sweater. A scary guy? Holly glanced around the mall for a moment, but it was pretty unquestionable where Luka was looking, and the guy was staring right back. Well, he was just popping up all over the place. What the hell was he doing anyway? Was he waiting for someone? That must have been it, it's not like people would actually just sit somewhere and stare at people walking by. That would just be weird.
"What'd he do?" she turned her head back towards Luka and raised an eyebrow. "Ah, well regardless, I don't think there's any need to cancel our plans, let's go."
This time she was at least able to get it out. She put her hand in the middle of Luka's back to gently push her along. While she didn't particularly like having someone clinging to her, she didn't feel the need to pry Luka off...yet. Hopefully she'd feel a little better once they reached their destination.

Jonathon realized they were now both staring right at him and gulped. He waved sheepishly before he got up and attempted to try and fade into the crowd. Judging by the younger girl's reaction to seeing him, he had clearly made her upset in the past. Had he really been that scaring at the meet up Alisa had? If they came up to him, he'd apologize, but he didn't really want to confront Holly. Just being around her made him exceedingly awkward and embarrassed. Yet at the same time, he kind of liked being around her, despite the negative social effects.

Luka followed Holly, nodding at her words. There was no need to cancel the plans. But looking back once more at the boy, it seems that he was trying to leave now. Was it possible that she had gotten the wrong idea about him? She was starting to feel a little bad now. She had since let go of Holly and was walking normally by now. Hey, can we go talk to him perhaps? I may have gotten the wrong idea about him. Its just a feeling. . . She stared at the boy again.
She made up her mind that the boy at least deserved another chance. It was very likely that she had jumped to conclusions. As someone who was judged all of her life, Luka felt that it was necessary to give others a second chance now. She could start doing that right now with this boy, she thought. Is that fine with you? Tilting her head, she turned back to Holly quizzically. After all, Holly was the one who had invited her out to the mall. Luka felt it was only fair that she decide the agenda.

Well this was irritating. Normally, Holly liked surprises, they were a good way to break up the monotony of life, this surprise however wasn't a very good one. She was going to have to play mediator for two people she only kind of knew for a problem she didn't even know existed. Part of her just wanted to shrug it off and continue with her plans, but given Luka's reaction to just seeing him she knew that wasn't exactly an option. She didn't like leaving bad feelings hanging around, and even if it wasn't strictly her problem she understood it would likely bleed into her shopping trip and become her problem real fast if she read Luka right at all.
"Alright, alright," she sighed. "Hey you!" she turned towards where the boy was running off, and paused for a moment to give herself a chance to remember his name. "Jonathon Montoya! Get over here!"
Her voice could be very loud when she wanted it to be. It wasn't exactly quiet to begin with, but when she actually wanted to project the sounds of the crowds a the mall couldn't even hope to drown her out. Holly didn't actually sound particularly irritated either, so hopefully that wouldn't scare him off. If it did she might have to literally chase him down and that would just be irritating.

Jonathon slowed down when he heard Holly shout out towards him and stopped when she said his name. "She knows my name?" He thought, surprised. As far as he was concerned, she didn't even know his name, or that he existed except for when they ran into each other. Gathering his cool he turned and walked over to the girls. "Uh, hey. What's up." He said, waving a little. Then he turned to Luka. "I'm sorry I sort of called you out at that meeting. You were just the first person besides Alisa that I recognized. I was just surprised and kind of glad to see someone familiar there. I'm really sorry, I just hadn't gotten a chance to say sorry since then."

Holly seemed reluctant to go along with Luka's idea, despite her deciding to go with it. Luka simply stood there for a moment when the girl called out to Jonathan. Then all at once, Luka picked up her pace to closely follow behind Holly. With as loud as she was, the boy was certain to hear her. Once they had reached the boy, Luka simply stared at him for a moment. Was this guy really bad? He seemed more uneasy than anything. Though, Luka had a feeling Holly did that to a lot of people. (Not that it bothered her. She actually liked Holly.) He greeted them in a rather nonchalant way despite having just tried to avoid conversation. Was he trying to save face, perhaps?
Then the boy seemed to focus on her for a moment. It seemed he knew exactly what was bothering her, which was odd. Putting that aside, the girl felt a lot better knowing that he wasn't as bad as she thought. It was purely a misunderstanding. With a slight smile, Luka shook her head. No, its fine. I understand. Sure his reaction may have been a bit off what she was considering, but he didn't mean any harm. And that solved that!
Turning over to Holly, Luka nodded at her. She was satisfied with this outcome and was ready to continue their shopping trip. The nod was simply her way of giving Holly the stage for whatever was next.

Holly was at least a little pleased when he just came over instead of continuing to run away. She folded her arms and stepped back a bit. This was a problem between the two of them, so she was at least going to allow them to try to work it out first. If she had to step in to mediate she would, but it sounded like a pain.
Fortunately, the guy just completely spilled his guts the second he got over there. What the hell happened at that meeting before she got there? It must have been really bad if he knew exactly what Luka was worried about before she could even say anything. Luka seemed satisfied with everything, so she guessed everything was fine now? Once again, she just found herself confused. What just happened? Well, there was probably not much point in thinking too hard about it. Especially when there were shiny things to look at.
"So it sounds like everything's fine now? Good," she continued without waiting for a response. "We'll be on our way then." She started walking off assuming Luka would follow. "I look forward to seeing their necklaces and bracelets."

"Uh...ok...bye." He said, waving a little as they left. He stuck his hands in his pockets and sighed a little as he watched them go. Turning around he started to head back to the entrance to the shopping district. He'd sort of hoped he could have spent a bit more time talking with them, well, mainly holly. They seemed to have something better to do with their time however, leaving Jonathon alone. He decided to do a bit more people watching, sitting down on the fountain again. People kept walking by, back and forth, doing whatever silly thing it is they did. Jonathon noticed, but didn't really care. His mind was too busy wandering.

Luka nodded to herself satisfied with the outcome. Following that, she turned back to Holly and began to follow closely next to her. However, she stopped just a moment after, looking back at the boy for a moment. He seemed a bit disappointed. I'm sure he might want to come. Looking over at Holly a moment who was still heading in the direction she was, Luka took a deep breath and decided to catch up to Holly. Waiiiit~ Waitwaitwait. She tugged ever-so gently at Holly. So lightly, she wouldn't even notice. Let's bring him along! She spoke, making direct eye contact with Holly, should she be looking back at her. She wasn't sure if this would make her annoyed or not, but it was under consideration. Regardless, she chose to bring up the idea.
She turned back to Jonathan and yelled back now. Hey! Do you wanna look at jewelry with us? Maybe you'll find something you like! And with that, she invited him on her own. The girl clearly didn't understand the implications she may have been giving. Specifically, asking a boy to come look at jewelry with two girls; with the idea that he may possibly be getting something for himself.

Holly didn't notice that Luka had stopped at first, as always she just assumed that the girl would follow her. When Luka told her to wait, she stopped and blinked a couple of times. Well, she supposed it wouldn't hurt to bond with more persona users, but this one was a guy. She was almost certain that he wouldn't be interested in any of the places she wanted to go, so she didn't think there was any point in asking him. Not to mention he'd be stuck with two girls talking about girly things. Hanging out with girls might sound nice when you're a teenage boy, but she understood that what they expected was not actually how it was in practice.
Well, regardless if he wanted to come along she wouldn't stop him. She followed Luka and shrugged.
"You can come if you want, I don't mind. I'm not sure if you'll be interested in where we'll be going though."
