Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

As Luka expected, once Luka said she wanted to go back, Holly pushed her way through the crowd like no one was there at all and showed no remorse for it. Not even when people looked at her funny or called her mean names. It didn't take very long to get back to the jewelry store, and it took even less time for Holly to locate the earrings she noticed before.
"Here." She rubbed her chin and stared at Luka for several seconds with her brow furrowed. "You seem to like wearing blue as well. Sapphires and other blue gems would work well with that. Purple would as well. Just avoid orange, it'd be way too much for the kind of look you seem to want to go for. How much do you know about colors anyway? Not just colors in fashion, but art or any medium."
It wouldn't do to just tell her what to buy. Holly was not her mother after all. It was important that she understood how everything worked together so that she could decide for herself what she wanted to wear and what to get to make sure she looked good.

Luka watched the numerous people pass her by as Holly pushed though them. It was almost like going through a tunnel! Fun. But their little journey through the crowds of people was short lived at they made it back into the jewelry shop. Already, Luka began to look around with slightly increased curiosity. Since she had already gone to the trouble of piercing her ears, her focus was naturally drawn to the earrings section.
Holly began to explain a few things about what she should be looking out for as well as a few suggestions. What she said made sense, of course. Well, I think I have an idea of what colors go together. She hadn't the slightest clue in fashion. But all that manga she read? It allowed her to gather a good idea of different color schemes. But something blue would look good you say? Holly was right when she said that Luka likely wanted something blue. Though, there were many options before her. I like these ones too. Luka took a risk and decided to pick something out that she herself liked. It was a simple pair of earrings. Rather than blue or yellow though, they were primarily white with just a bit of blue inside. Simple, but nice. The girl wasn't looking for something extravagant; just something that looked nice. What do you think? She picked out something that she liked herself, but she was still hoping for Holly's input regardless.

Holly examined the pair of earrings that Luka picked out, looking between them and Luka herself intently. Her expression wasn't quite judging, 'appraising' would be more correct, but it was still a bit of an unnerving stare.
"Yeah, that works with what you're currently wearing and it would work with similar colors. I wasn't sure if it would work with the scarf for awhile but...I think the darker center compliments it adequately," she nodded. "See, you don't want to mix too many tones, shades or colors. Having a bit of contrast is often useful, but having colors and bright and dark clothing all over the place will just make you look strange. Kind of in the same way a circus clown looks strange. Much like in any artwork, you want there to be a focus and emphasize that. In this case it just happens to be your face and body."

Luka watched as Holly examined the earrings. It was almost as if she was being graded on her decision. Funnily enough, Luka was surprisingly confident for this reason. After all, someone in the top of their class had little doubt in themselves when it involved grades.
Luka smiled when she received a positive review. She was also rather relieved that they wouldn't clash with her scarf. I see. If it clashed with the scarf, I would definitely need to find something else. Holly continued to give her a small "lecture" on tones and shades, to which Luka listened to with an unwavering gaze. To each statement Holly gave, Luka responded with an energetic nod. Hm. Hm. I'm not a clown. She had likely said that simply for the sake of saying it.
Though. . . Luka began to pat at the sides of her head, causing her hair to poof in and out a bit. She had an oddly focused look on her face while doing so. My hair will likely cover them while its down. At this revelation, she began to experiment on her own as she moved her hair around. Eventually, she ended up cupping the majority of her into a pony tail. Uwah. That works. She nodded as she let her hair fall back down to its original state. I may need to experiment with hairstyles later. There was a fiery look in her eyes for some reason as she looked back to Holly.
A-Anyway. . . I think I'm gonna buy these. And with that, she went to go purchase them, assuming Holly was coming with her.

"That's fairly normal for people with long hair. Earrings are supposed to be an accent, so it's okay. Nothing wrong with seeing what else your hair can do though. Hair, especially hair that long, can do quite a bit."
Holly nodded slightly and followed Luka to check out. She didn't pick up anything herself, but there was no need to separate because of that. Once Luka paid, Holly made her way to the exit before Luka could do so herself. Even it if was just for a moment, it felt weird to be following her rather than having it be the other way around. Once outside she clasped her hands behind her head and sighed.
"I'm a little disappointed. The new line didn't come in any colors I care for. I'm glad you found something though so that the trip wasn't a total waste."

Luka was given some reassurance regarding her earrings and hair. With a few more presses against her hair, the girl nodded at Holly. She was even given a little encouragement to try out some new hairstyles since it wouldn't be such a bad idea. She would likely try that later when she got the chance.
After having paid for the earrings, Luka quickly followed behind Holly as they made their way to the exit. As it would seem, Holly was a bit disappointed with what she found at the store. Luka was happy with what she found, but she felt a bit bad for Holly. Well, I wouldn't mind doing something like this again if you want. Maybe next time we'll find something for you? On that note, the girl followed Holly out the exit door.

"You're welcome to contact me whenever you want. And well, even if we don't I wouldn't say trips like this are ever a waste of time."
Holly put one hand in one of her pockets and she started walking forward towards the exit, and lifted the other hand to wave slightly as she passed Luka. Her pace was leisurely, so if there was anything else her shopping partner wanted to say to her as she left she would be able to, it just sounded like she was ready to leave so Holly didn't worry about it.
That said, she wasn't quite sure how she was going to spend the rest of her day.
