Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Some of them managed to dodge yet again, making the effort somewhat wasted. Her annoyance level was beginning to border on the stage where she knew she couldn't control it, but the hydra woman kept a calm, stoic appearance, even as the darkness assailed her - the attack simply brushed over her and disappeared into nothingness as she completely nullified the attack. On the other hand, one of them, the damned healer of all people, charged her head on, forgoing any weapon other than his own body as he struck out, landing a neat blow on the middle hydra's neck, causing it to whip back in pain and even the hydra woman grimaced - that stung like hell, even if it wasn't a particularly strong attack.
Unfortunately, it was also so close to that last straw that Hineia had to make the call - if she stayed any longer, she would be risking loss of control. It would be far better to retreat than to do that, in her mind at least. "Farewell, Users..." She spoke in a clipped tone, before the entire form began to change into mist again, spiriting away into the upper reaches of the cavern, only reforming in to Hineia's human form when she was far, far out of sight. Too much effort... Sighing, she made her way out of the sinkhole, wandering once more.
Attacks had once more rained down upon the enemy, continuing the battle that had yet to actually end despite the clearing of the team's objective. Still, it wouldn't be right to let a shadow as formidable as this go away when there were others who weren't capable of dealing with it even when in groups. In Vice's opinion, it was pretty damn better to just kill the thing while they still had the upper hand.
Unfortunately, like the hydras that made majority of the shadow's form, it was a slippery thing and had managed to elude all five of the users enough to be able to escape from their grasp. The biker would have given chase but doing so would have simply destroyed whatever formation they had and increased the risk for potentially no reward at all. Settling back and checking over the team he had been working with, the young man was pretty not quite but somewhat happy to know that everyone was still there and breathing.
Holly clicked her tongue when yet another shadow nullified one of the users' attacks. At least the others worked, and just punching it looked particularly effective. It was too bad Holly herself was no good at attacking like that or she'd go smack it around a little herself once she was done debuffing the thing. Unfortunately, after that round of attacks the shadow started to retreat. This was the first time she had seen a shadow do that, and this one was able to talk no less. It was actually...a little intelligent?
"Don't let it get away!"
Holly darted after it, but by the time she got out of the cave she couldn't even sense it anymore. What the hell? It was happening again? She folded her arms, this was troubling. She couldn't even properly savor the victory over the first shadow like this. Sighing, she made her way back to the group.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine," she waved her hand dismissively and went to pick up one of the items on the ground at random. "Didn't realize shadows could be so slippery."

The Shadow decided we weren't worth its time or something as it went away, slinking into... Well, the shadows. Holly seemed to run after it and ended up leaving the cave or something as she called for us not to let it get away. I didn't bother chasing after it. I had a feeling she wouldn't come back. Holly returned to us, seeming disappointed in the fact the other shadow got away. "It's alright," I said, noticing the shin-diggity-new-threads that seemed a smidge dirty, but could probably be useful if I got it cleaned and fixed up a little. "I have a very big feeling that this Shadow isn't going to be coming back to us any time soon." I sighed and sat on the ground.
"We should just take what we can get. Another big Shadow eliminated is a boon, after all."

Luka watched with great expectancy as the dark attack flew towards the shadow. Unfortunately, rather than having the intended effect of downing the shadow, the attack was simply nullified. Just how many of these shadows were nullifying her attacks? Suddenly, her ability to break those resistances seemed like a powerful necessity. Though, before she could do anything of the sort, the shadow decided to escape. It had probably realized that it was far outmatched.
Meanwhile, Holly attempted to give chase, if only for a moment. But it soon became evident that the shadow was long gone. We did good. Luka decided to finally give input of her own. If anything like that shows up again, we'll be ready. That being said, we should all get some rest now. Nice work, everyone. The nights of the full moon were impressive fights, yes. But when five powerful users banded together against a few powerful enemies, that was something she considered just as impressive. I'll be taking my leave here. See you all again. Luka waved goodbye to everyone. Though, she decided to stick her tongue out at Akira for teasing her. And with that taken care of, Luka headed home for a shower and a comfy nap in her bed.

Akira clicked his tongue as the enemy ran. Seemed to be an intelligent Shadow, though. Not much he could do about that. Sighing and heading back over to retrieve his scissors, the crossdresser gave them a good swing to the left, then the right, to knock the majority of dirt off of the thing. Offering a smirk to Luka, he made a pinching motion towards that extended tongue before heading over to grab his piece of the loot. Overall, the fight was decent enough. Rewards could likely be sold (and they did end up being sold later), so it wasn't a complete bust on the return of time and energy invested. Plus, one less major Shadow, even if another did rear its head. Heads? Heads. Whatever the case, just another Shadow at the end of the day. Seemed weak to Strike, though, so that was something to keep in mind.
”In one piece, despite being constantly shot at. One more down, though. Plenty more to go, but one more down.” The crossdresser stretched and rolled his head around. ”Ruka is gone. The rest of you gonna linger here in the dirt?” Though the words were fine, the tone that delivered them was almost teasing.
The biker retorted with an amused tone to the varying reactions afar waving good bye at the Dark Type specialist. He swore, the girl sure packed some firepower so long as the shadow didn't null her attacks. Hell, he was willing to bet that even if the opponent had a good resistance against it, they'd still be bent out of shape after her attack. Facing back towards the others, and more or less deciding to hang around with the group for a bit more to see if there was anything interesting waiting to happen.
Rolling his neck and stretching his arms to get his blood flowing properly again, Vice too began to lean back on the walls for it to act as his support. That fight took a lot out of him, even with the continuous buffs and debuffing of the opponent. Damn the pierce attacks as well, he was getting sick and tired of having to contend with that. "I agree, a shadow taken down is one less hassle to for all of us. I have no clue on what to do now though…aside from getting out of here but that's obvious. Any idea on what we can do next?"

Holly just waved at Luka as she passed. It was disappointing to see someone leave so soon, but she supposed she couldn't blame her since they did let a shadow get away. It didn't seem to be bothering anyone else as much as it was her and she didn't really get it. Even if they did take down one they completely blew their chance to take down another! It's not like they wouldn't have to deal with it eventually, so it would have been so much better to take down now! She mentally sighed. There wasn't much point dwelling on it either. She knew they were right and that she should enjoy this victory for what it was, she just couldn't help but feel a little irritated about it all.
"Well, I suppose there's not much point in staying here unless you wanted to check out what the barrier opened up or something."
That actually sounded like a decent idea to her even if she was feeling a bit tired. Smaller shadows shouldn't be any problem at all with a group this big, so they could start working towards stirring up the next strong shadow. Somehow, she didn't think they'd go for it, so she didn't say anything more about that.
"I think most people would perhaps get some food or throw a small party or something to celebrate, but I acknowledge that we're not exactly a group of normal people. I wouldn't mind doing something fun though. I don't think I've really gotten the chance to get to know most of you."
