Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Luka was dressed rather nicely but still casually as she waited outside the karaoke place in Mimoza. She watched many people pass her by, a few even heading into the karaoke place she was in front of. She hadn't been waiting long, having only arrive a moment ago, but the people she invited tonight should be arriving quite soon. The girl had managed to organize a little trip to the karaoke place for a few of the female users. Well, two females and one boy who passed himself off as a girl. The reason for this trip? It had a simple purpose really. With all of the busy work everyone had to do, shadow buisness and otherwise, the girl felt that it was good to take some time off and enjoy oneself. In that sense, why not enjoy it with some friends?
Luka looked at the time for a moment, noting that it had just now hit the time that she asked everyone to meet up at. She took a brief look around once more to see if she could spot anyone. The reservations for their room had already been made ahead of time. Once they were all here, they would simply be able to walk in and go straight to their room. From there, the fun would begin. Hopefully. She wasn't exactly worried about having fun. Instead, she was more worried about what sort of silly things would happen at her suspense. With a slight sigh to that thought, she pushed it to the back of her mind and continued to wait.

A girls' night out, huh? Heh. I guess it would be quite a time for me to unwind and try to loosen up a little given the recent events. I think it was Luka who organized it. A karaoke around this area. I didn't fancy myself the best singer, but I think it would be nice to see how I fare with everyone else. I didn't have the girliest voice, after all. Haha! Anyway, I decided to go with a particularly playful ensemble. I think Ran would recognize it. She was coming along, right? Hope nothing awkward comes of it. Black thigh-highs paired with a dull red, short, pleated skirt with black star trim. A sleeveless, lightweight vest coupled with a denim jacket. Yeah, I think this would be fine. Wearing this particular set of clothing out, I was already on my way to the venue.
I soon noticed Luka in the distance, waiting around and thinking about something. Did she think some mischief was gonna happen at her expense? I'd hope not! Gosh, I think I'm the oldest out of everyone who's going to be there, that makes me a little depressed... I approached Luka and waved at her as I did so. "Hello, Luka! I hoped I wouldn't get lost. I'm not very familiar with this part of the city as I don't come out here too often. I'm glad to see you're punctual! Shall we wait for the others?"

Now, Akira's life had not taken a drastic change in the least despite his meeting his Shadow. If anything, it remained exactly the same. All that changed for him was that he remembered the mentality he had forgotten before. Oh well. Nothing big. Whether Akira or Ranmaru were acts or not was irrelevant. All that really mattered was that he was himself and he was pleased with what he was doing. That said, the person that was there with him during that whole event, Magical Girl Luna Luka, invited him along to a girls' night out. Oh, what fun. Naturally, “Akira” could not come. Instead, “Ran”, or “Fujimoto Ranmaru”, would. Not that the others would know about the act's full name. So, dressed to dress, no need to impress, the crossdresser came with a flavorful ensemble, but nothing too extraordinary.
Flat black pumps, black thigh-highs, and a pleated maroon skirt made up the lower half of his gothic compilation. For the top, there was a simple white blouse, but it was completely obscured by mildly frilly, blood red vest. While it covered his torso, it did not guard his arms. That was where the lightweight black jacket came into play. He had it half-zipped, mostly to reduce the chances of getting it caught on stuff, or giving people the chance to grab on, while meandering through the neighborhood. Glasses were pushed up, hair was left free to flow, and his face hosted a pleasant enough expression. If there was anything that could be said to be “wrong” or “unnerving” about him, it was the fact that he was using a disposable towel to wipe his hand clean. It hurt just a bit, and one might have assumed it was because of injury, as there was blood on the towel. However, that was just the result of a pervert unable to take “No” for an answer. He was promptly laid out.
”Hey, hey, hey. Good evening, young ladies. Are you ready to scream?” He had already discarded the towel by then, fortunately. No need to worry people gathered for a nice occasion over nasty, trivial things, after all. ”Well, maybe screaming would be inaccurate. I suppose it depends on the skill levels we're dealing with.” He sent a teasing wink over to Luka before nodding at Alisa. Two was a couple, and three was a crowd, but three was not enough for a proper party. Thus, the continued waiting commenced.

At first, Holly was a little hesitant to agree to an outing like this. Not because she disliked the company, but because she was terrible at singing. Really, the company was the only reason she was going at all. She was hoping that the place had a few songs where she could get away with shooting or screaming her way through so she didn't look like a complete fool. If worst came to worst she might be able to fake something to get out of singing herself, but she didn't really want to count on it.
Her ensemble was a little more complex than it had been lately, mostly because she could finally get away with it. She wasn't going to explore the shadowlands, so it didn't need to be entirely practical, and it was finally starting to get warm enough that she didn't need to keep every inch of herself covered to prevent her from freezing. Her hair stayed down and was free of any accessories, anything else would just be inappropriate for a casual outing. Because of that, she opted to not wear any earrings or do anything real special to her face; just a small amount of makeup would suffice. Her top was red, as they tended to be, with sleeves that went to her elbows. While the sleeves were still tight around the elbow, there was a bit of decorative fabric on the ends that flared out. There was also an intricate, abstract pattern on the lower left part of the top. Both her pants and shoes were solid black and pretty simple. After all, people were supposed to be looking at her face, not her feet. Her pants were just black slacks with nothing special on them. Her shoes were simple lace up boots with a small heel. It's not like Holly needed to be any taller than she was, so she always made sure the heels on her shoes weren't more than a couple of inches high even if she did like the way the bigger ones looked sometimes. As always, all of her clothing was custom tailored to fit her perfectly. Because this outfit actually allowed for it for once, she decided to put on a few simple bracelets and a golden necklace with a single ruby on the pendant as well.
As always, Holly arrived about five minutes late. That should allow more than enough time for any stragglers to show up because she didn't want to be kept waiting. As expected, everyone was there. Whether SHE kept them waiting long she didn't particularly care about. She was worth the wait. So, she strode over to the group without an ounce of shame.
"Good evening everyone. Feels weird to see all of you without there being something big to beat up. It's a nice change of pace."
Post by Luka Kurokawa on Apr 4, 2014 20:53:29 GMT -5
Luka only needed to wait a moment or two before the rest of her party began to appear. One by one they all met up with each other outside the karaoke place. The first one to show up ended up being Alisa who wore something Luka didn't really expect the woman to wear. It was unexpected, but she certainly looked good in it. Smiling, she responded to the woman as she made her way over. Good evening. You seem to be the first one besides me to arrive. So yes, let's wait for the others for a bit. Of course, the two wouldn't be waiting long before the second guest arrived.
Next up was Akira, or in this case, Ran. He seemed to be wearing his usual attire for a casual outing; something expected for a young female. He made a comment in regards to the overall skill level of the people singing, then winked at Luka. The girl reacted in a number of ways to this. For one, she was reminded of the last karaoke place she went to and what had happened while there. With a twitch, she averted her gaze from the boy, mostly out of annoyance. Thankfully, it wasn't too long before her third and final expected party member showed up.
Good evening, Holly. As the tall blonde showed up, Luka greeted her. She was quite right in saying that this was a nice change of pace. Protecting the city was fine and all, but everyone needed to spend some time enjoying life. After all, what's the point in fighting for something if nobody is going to enjoy it? All of their efforts would be in vain. That had been one of the reasons that Luka organized an event like this. Alright. Now that everyone is here, let's proceed to the room we have reserved, shall we? She addressed the entire party this time before turning and beginning to enter the building they were waiting outside of.
Upon entering, Luka removed her black overcoat that she had been wearing and slung it over her arm. With the coat gone, she could be seen wearing a frilled black blouse for a top and a black tiered skirt with dark blue frills overtop some thigh-highs. She had acquired a taste for frilly things as of late for some reason. Walking over to the counter, she spoke to the woman running it. Rukako. Party of four. With a smile, the employee guided her and the rest of the party over to their private room.
A quick gaze over the room showed a large booth that could fit nearly a dozen people, a large TV screen that was likely used to show the lyrics and to allow people to pick a song, as well as a remote, a microphone, and several snacks and drinks already placed down. Walking into the room and sliding herself into the booth, Luka spoke again to the rest of the party. I was told that we can order more snacks and drinks whenever we want. They were having a special so it won't even cost us extra. With a pleased expression, the girl looked around at the room that they were in. All the planning she did seemed to have paid off.

Ran and Holly both arrived shortly after I did, it seemed. It was going to be the four of us at this karaoke joint. Now, I wasn't the greatest at singing, but my lower voice compared to other women my age allowed me to pull off the older songs sung by men fairly convincingly, though I wasn't super confident about my singing abilities. Luka began to lead us inside, telling the attendant that she had a room reserved for four, and the employee began to take us to the private room.
The booth was pretty big; at least three times larger than our party could fit in here. The usual, standard-fare karaoke stuff could be found in here, and truth to be told, it was a pretty swanky place. Some snacks and drinks were already placed for us to take and have if we wanted to. I followed Luka into the booth and placed my hands on my hips. "That's cool. Come to think of it, who would like to sing first?" I asked, smiling and looking a little more playful than I was used to being.
"Or shall I take the mic and set an example?" I took the remote and started to fidget with the controls once I made sure the TV was on and the karaoke system was actually working properly. I was flipping through the incredibly vast selection of songs, a mixture of retro and modern alike, I sort of giggled when I realized there was also an evident selection of anison in this karaoke system as well. Maybe Ran would enjoy those? I didn't know everybody's musical tastes...

Akira just raised an arm in a silent, still wave to Holly when she appeared. Simple and to the point, really. Outside of the various battles and that one event back in the day- holy shit, he was getting old to be saying that- he hadn't spent much time around the “Queen”. Even then, he hadn't really had too many chances to get to know her, either. Luka and Alisa, though, he had had the time to play with and tease them. They were, effectively, his toys, even if they themselves did not realize it. Well, Luka might have had an idea, but probably not the full picture. Would this be. . . the beginning of a third entry into his toybox? Unlikely, but the thought made him a little giddy. Actually, it'd be better to focus his efforts before spreading out again.
Following the group in, the boy in drag just remained silent with all the nitty-gritty business. They were led to a room, and then snacks and drinks appeared before them. How nice. Good news was, even if the drinks were alcoholic or spiked, he'd be a-okay! Unshaken Will was pretty badass for that reason alone. The boy took a seat very briefly, long enough to reach and get a glass but not much more so. Then, scooting over towards the far end of the seats, the boy in drag let his legs dangle off the end, laid down, turned onto his side, and finally curled up. This whole time, he was holding the glass sideways, making sure not to tip or spill it, before sipping from a straw. The posture for drinking was fittingly eccentric. At least, for Akira. Only Luka knew that bit, though. The rest just saw “Ran”.
”By all means. I'm fine with laying here for the time being.” A slight nod punctuated his response. He was comfortable like that, and he did something sufficiently abnormal to entertain himself. And the juice was okay. Altogether, it was a good experience. So far, at least.
Post by Holly Mason on Apr 7, 2014 17:29:53 GMT -5
This was the advantage of arriving fashionably late: everyone was already there, so everything could begin right away without having to wait. Holly quietly followed the group into the room, staying behind Luka but otherwise trying to stay in the middle of everyone if not in front of them. Once in the private room, she grabbed something to drink and took a seat right in the middle of the seating area. She didn't bother to check what the drink was as she didn't particularly care. She wasn't drinking it for the taste after all. She crossed her legs at the knees and folded her arms across her lap, carefully holding her drink so that it didn't spill. If she got hungry she might grab some snacks, but otherwise she was content with letting everyone else eat them.
Looked like Luka was playing hostess while Alisa started digging through the songs. Holly mentally breathed a sigh of relief when it was looking likely she at least wouldn't have to sing first. At least now there was a chance Alisa would be even worse at singing than she was and therefore she wouldn't sound as bad in comparison. Holly at least had some experience with music, even if was only dancing to it.
"Sounds like you're volunteering. Show us what you got," she leaned back in her seat.

As Luka slid into the booth, she watched as Alisa began to fiddle with the TV remote a bit, looking through all the songs. Luka was expecting to sing first, to be honest. After all, she wasn't sure if Alisa or Holly would be all that comfortable going first in something like karaoke. Well, Holly probably didn't care about going first. (In Luka's mind, anyway.) She knew Akira had no issues with such a thing going on previous experience, but she wasn't expecting Alisa to go straight for singing first of all people. Nevertheless, Luka smiled a bit as she saw the woman begin flipping through songs. With a slight giggle, she began to look through the assortment of food in front of her.
A lot of the foods she saw were things she hadn't seen before. The drinks seemed even more foreign. Yet, as someone who always took the opportunity to try new things, Luka went for the most colorful drink she could find and poured herself a large glass of it. Taking a small sip, the girl felt a strange stinging sensation on her tongue. How strange. Meanwhile, she began to look over at the other two members of the party.
Holly seemed to be relaxing while enjoying a drink. Not much different than Luka herself, really. Luka was actually somewhat looking forward to the girl's singing. She wasn't sure what kind of song that she would try to attempt. But that got Luka thinking as well. What kind of song would she pick for herself? After a moment of pondering, she could only categorize her preference as "something fun." Perhaps she would get a better idea when she began to flip through the song choices? She took another sip of the strange drink before looking towards where the fourth member of the party would be sitting if he wanted to act like a normal person. She simply narrowed her eyes at the boy with an unamused look before sighing, and turning her attention back to Alisa who was likely going to be singing in a moment. Just what kind of song would she pick for herself?

Alisa went right on up to be the first one at the judgment seat. How admirable! The boy in drag could not vouch for anybody's skills there, minus Luka's. His own skills were pretty good. Then again, he also had plenty of practice thanks to his double-life back in Japan. Back in Japan? Shit, he was still neck-deep in a double-life now. The coin was himself; the sides were the normal boy that acted as the student council president and the girl that embodied chaos and fought against sinister forces. At which point would he allow the coin to land on its third side? Or would he ever? Regardless, the boy listened to Alisa's singing. The song seemed. . . old. The video looked old. The lyrics certainly were not something that struck him as “modern”. With a sip-sip on his straw, the boy remained quiet, waving when the woman did look back during the instrumental segment. When the song ended, she sat down and let out a sound. Overall, it was not bad. Not amazing, naturally. He doubted anyone there, even himself, would sing amazingly. But it was nice.
”I'd clap, but then I'd need to put my drink down, and that'd be exceedingly unpleasant, so, instead, I'll say you sang well.” Punctuating the end of his words with a sip, he closed his eyes, still laying on the end of the seats furthest in the room. ”I'll look forward to seeing what you do next.” With a quiet giggle he gaze a glance at Luka, then at Holly. ”I'll sing once I'm done with my drink for the time being. Or after Ruka sings. One or the other.” Another sip signaled that the “girl” had spoken “her” piece for the time being. Truthfully, he had his intended song in mind. Just had to be sure that they had it in the system. So long as there was that, he'd have his own fun.

And thus, Alisa started to sing. Holly just leaned back, rested her arm on the back of the chair and listened while occasionally sipping her drink. She didn't recognize the song. Her Japanese also wasn't good enough to understand most of it. It was shortly after Alisa started singing that she realized she was the only person in here that didn't have a Japanese name, and therefore was probably the only person that didn't speak the language. That was actually a little awkward, even if she didn't feel particularly awkward being around them.
The song continued and Alisa seemed to be getting into it. It was actually kind of cute really. After a few minutes the song ended and it was time to decide who went next. Ran spoke up first, but she wasn't interested in going just yet. Holly just raised an eyebrow and shrugged, turning over to Luka.
"Looks like it's you or me then. Do you want to go next?"
Post by Luka Kurokawa on Apr 11, 2014 15:18:18 GMT -5
As Alisa began to sing, Luka continued to help herself to the various snacks laid out from them to consume. Of course, she took several sips of her mystery drink during that time. An odd sensation flowed down her throat rhythmically as she swallowed each gulp. At one point she even looked down at her drink as if to question if it was safe. Of course, she decided that there was nothing to fear given that a business wouldn't exactly be able to sell anything that wasn't safe. Taking the drink off her mind, she decided to enjoy the singing instead.
The first thing that she took notice of was the fact that Alisa seemed pretty confident up there, even moving around a bit to the song. Then again, Luka was guilty of moving around a lot when she sang. Not that she was complaining of course. The song itself seemed rather dated but was rather cute nonetheless. The song itself was completely in Japanese which wouldn't pose a problem to neither herself nor Akira who were both native Japanese. Holly might have been completely clueless as to the lyrics though. She wasn't sure if she could speak Japanese or not. Regardless, the song itself was rather calming and fun to listen to. Alisa did a pretty good job as well.
Taking one more sip of her colorful drink, Luka clapped for Alisa a little as she sat back down. Not bad. Then, Akira decided to make a few comments as well. Though, one in particular gave her a bad feeling. In short, she knew that he was planning something. He also passed off singing to either her or Holly next. Luka was more than ready to sing now. In fact, it was probably better to now before her stomach acted up or something. That drink was something strange. With a look over at Holly, Luka decided that she would go next. I'll go. I have a song in mind already. What she said was true of course. She recognized a lot of the songs on the song library given that a good deal of them were from the song libraries in several of her games.
Luka rose to her feet with a slight wobble before scooting her way out in front of the screen to select a song. Now she was losing her balance? What next? The girl moved through the screen at an alarming speed. Mostly because she knew exactly where to find the song that she would be singing. A moment later, she found it and clicked on it with a slight smile. Ah. Here it is. From the preview, one could tell that it was a rather fast and powerful song compared to the laid back atmosphere of the last one. Luka happened to specialize in songs like this, actually. This one in particular? It wasn't the first time she had sung it. Though, she usually sung it while playing on of her dancing games. In other words, she felt more natural dancing along a little as she sung.
The music started up with some car engines in the background before breaking into a guitar. Luka took up a confident position as she waited for her cue to begin singing. As she heard the revving of the engines and the guitar, Luka felt an odd feeling in her lower stomach. For some reason, she felt a little more "loose" in the mental sense. Just what kind of drink had she been drinking, anyway? Regardless, she was more than prepared to sing. And then, her turn finally came.
Hey, hey, Dee-jay We're running through the speed way Take me to the top of light (Take me to the top of light) We gonna dancing in the night is over Follow me, follow me to tonight (I've been waiting for your emotion in time) Come baby drive me Burning deep inside me Running through the way like a fight (Running through the way like a fight) I wanna seek the power, my cherry is karma It's gonna be, gonna be all right You've been searching for tomorrow for your life
The song itself had some rather "questionable" lyrics. Luka didn't really see any of that though. All she knew was that this was a rather fun song to sing. And of course, she possessed a great deal of the "showmanship" side to singing. In other words, she made little poses, gestures, and so forth as she sung. Most of these in particular she got from the music video that came with it. The thing about those "gestures" and "poses" though, was that they were just as questionable, if not more so than the lyrics. But again, Luka didn't see anything provocative about her gestures. After all, she was just using what she learned from her games.
Of course, that mysterious drink that she had certainly didn't help her in the self-control department. Along with her gestures and poses, the girl shot a couple of glances and winks to the audience as she preformed. In truth, she was simply having fun supplemented by some questionable substances. The good thing is that she was in good company. And to be fair, she wasn't doing anything that would raise a red flag. All of it was in good taste. At worst, someone would simply question where on earth she learned it all.

When she was finished, Luka's breathing was only a little heavier than before. Normally, one song would do nothing to the girl. But with the effects of Mystery Drink A, she didn't exactly have the concentration to control her stamina. Plopping back into the seat she was originally in, the girl sighed once more before taking another sip of the drink. Though, she soon put it back down, due to the bad feeling that it was giving her. All done. She made a small comment to herself before getting comfy in her seat. That comfiness was interrupted by her perpetual fear of having bags of chips being dumped onto her head, of course. But she eventually returned to a content state. Luckily, she seemed to still be well within the realm of clarity. Nothing seemed to be inhibiting her judgment. At least, not yet.

I silently nodded and smiled and took my seat as the other three didn't seem to have their ears bleed out from my singing, so I gathered that I must have been doing at least something right. Ran mentioned she was only singing after she was done with her drink, or after Luka sings. Was she planning something? Anyway, I snagged a random drink on the table for myself not really paying attention to what it was, and soon it was between Holly and Luka to decide who was gonna sing, and it seemed that Luka was going to take the center stage this time. I relaxed in my seat and watched.
Except Luka wobbled a little before she was going to go select her song. Uh, was she getting drunk? I think she was getting drunk. She found her song it seemed and she immediately started to get into it. The video seemed rather racy and the song itself seemed very fast and powerful. As she was singing, I realized that Luka was beginning to be a little provocative and at least questionable with her gestures and jigs. Wow, who taught you those moves? Cripes! I thought to myself as I continued watching and nodding to the song, though randomly she shot some glances and winks to the others.
I blinked as she eventually finished her song, and I clapped softly and gave a slow whistle.
"Yoooo girl... I didn't know you had those moves... And I didn't know you sung stuff like that! Where'd you learn? You're not bad~" I commented slyly.

Well, the boy had not been expecting anything abnormal. He had certainly been surprised. He hadn't paid much attention to the girl's stride as she went up, but, when Luka began to sing, he just kind of stared. Such an. . . interesting choice of songs. With lyrics that were a little out there and some slightly provocative moves, the girl had effectively amused the boy and given him ideas. With a song that actually utilized the word “Cherry” in it, yeah. He had to rise to the challenge and bother the hell out of her. Rather, not “bother”, but embarrass. After all, they were with others this time. Plenty he could do. What was a good, reasonably clean, song, though?
”Well, that was certainly something.” The boy in drag noted before suddenly shifting upwards and finishing his drink off all at once. It was a balancing act of consumption rate and raising speed, but he succeeded in preventing issues. ”I guess I'll sing now, if you're done. I'm feeling inspired.” With such dubious statements, the boy shifted closer to the table, planting his glass down, and took up the mic before situating himself at the console and looking through the selection. Certainly, they had to have something he was looking for, right? First few hopes were shattered. Eventually, though, he settled for something that would raise all sorts of flags. It'd bring some attention to Luka, if he played his cards right. He looked forward to the end result. Some light hearted techno beats started up. It took a few seconds to start up, but it gave Akira time to turn around and wink at the group.
”This is no ero story! Won't show you smutty CGs! Those things aren't romantic to me!
My system was defective Saved by a space detective It's a cutesy little love story!
You read my appeals Dramatic reveals While sharing my feels With dialogue wheels!”
As the chorus began, he closed in towards the seats, still singing. His focus was on Luka, though. Slowly, he pointed at her.
”Not ero! My intentions are pure! Not ero! I'm not that kind of girl! Oh, please be with me? Won't you humor me, marry me, and Be my love?
Not ero! We're not living in sin! Not ero! Not if I'm your heroine! Oh, please be with me? Won't you humor me, marry me, and Be my love Be my love Be my love Be my love?”
With a seductive wink, focused on just Luka, he whirled on his heel and stepped on away from the group, back towards the console.
”Could you press your lips against mine And help me to forget why My first kiss was only burning steel?”
He turned again, hand at his waist before slowly raising. They were getting the idol treatment. His singing was fairly good. Then again, he had plenty of time to sing in front of others back in Japan. It wasn't that hard to pick up the voice skills.
”I'll even reconsider My fear of wifely matters If you let me prove my love is real!
I want to feel free To speak honestly Just how much modesty Suits someone like me?
Not ero!
A brief lack of lyrics came. The song was beginning to wind down. With that, a bit more feeling built up. The boy had to match the song, after all.
”Could I ever say I'm sorry? Could I ever ask forgiveness? But the words refuse to come Leaving me helpless, deaf, and dumb All of your sweetness turns to dust And I am speechless.
Please be with me, humor me, marry me And be my love.”
With that, the song died down.
”Ah, that felt good!” Akira planted the mic down in it's little perch and then just smiled at the group, making a casual walk back despite the lyrics and his focus on Luka. ”Getting out those pent up feelings feels great. I guess Holly's up next!” With that, the boy in drag refilled his glass, plopped down in his spot, all grins, and sipped from his straw despite sitting up. He hold he glass with both hands, close to the bottom. It was a natural, though practiced, stance. It was something he practiced for the sole sake of looking “cute”. Certain groups loved gestures like that.
