Hello, beautiful, and not-so-beautiful, people! It's a little early, but we've got some new things to announce regarding a lot of members' favorite topic! Status effects. People were asking for a passive “booster” that would increase the chances on infliction, but we've got the next best thing. Though they won't be fully implemented until after this upcoming FMB, we now have plans for 50% chance status infliction skills. As that would suggest, these skills will be an upgrade to the existing status skills, which inflict statuses at a chance of 25%. There's also some other things we've hammer out. But, first, we're gonna focus on these new skills.
The first upgrade is the 50% chance, single-target set of skills. They can be purchased by anybody, and their projected cost is 3,500 FP. The second upgrade is the set of 50% chance, all-targeting skills. These will be restricted as Unique skills, meaning that they will be limited in quantity. Their projected cost is 6,000 FP. Now, there are eight statuses we utilize and allow here- Rage, Fear, Confusion, Exhaustion, Charm, Silence, Sleep, and Poison. With two skills per status, that's a total of sixteen new skills, all of which require new names. Well, the staff is lazy. So we're giving you, the members, a chance to come up with the new skill names. But! We're not asking you to do it for free. Each name that gets selected by the staff will get the member in question 200 FP on the character of their choice. Sure, it's not that much, but it's essentially three posts per name. Have fun, kids!
The second matter we're covering here is related to statuses. These are the restrictions of Custom skills, of both Users and Shadows, that implement a status effect. For Physically-aligned skills, we will allow Severe-all at a 25% chance of status infliction and Severe-single at a 50% chance of infliction. This reflects the fact that there are canon skills (Pralaya being one) with Severe + status, and the Single+50% is really no different from a weapon with a Tier 2 Status Mod. For magic, however, we have different restrictions. For magic, the caps are Major-all with a 25% chance of infliction and a Severe-single with a 25% chance of infliction. The reasoning for this is that typical non-signature magic skills don't incorporate status effects, so they're a bit more restricted than physical alternatives.
