Kyle'd managed to dodge the blast of lightning the Sun Shadow directed at them all. Just as well because he'd already been hauling CJ out of the immediate fray. The poor bastard had taken a hell of a beating and the healing spells the others were chucking out weren't waking him up even though they mended his injuries.
"Yo! CJ! Wake up!" he barked, dropping him a little unceremoniously to the ground behind a bench.
He gave him a couple of relatively gentle slaps but all he got back was a groan. Wasn't working. He couldn't waste time looking after him, they had a fight to finish -- and almost everyone seemed to be going a little apeshit. One of the girls, who'd been getting on his nerves with her screaming and beating on the wall, even... well, transformed. Kyle felt his skin crawl to look at her. She was obviously a Shadow. Had to be. There was no other way to explain it. His first instinct was to attack it, but then he thought about it better. It was going for the Sun Shadow.
Well, heck. The enemy of my enemy, yadda-yadda.
Wise decision.
He ignored the raging snake-lady, even though her mention of 'her girlfriend' did almost make him throw his arms up and walk away. Seriously, the fuck is wrong with everyone in this city these days? For a moment he wondered if Phoebe was okay on the other side of the wall. She had turned out to be tougher than he'd thought but everyone's got their limits. And she was still one of the saner people he knew.
Don't go and die on me, you dumb butterball.
Instead, he willed another attack. Even though they were considerably weaker compared to what everyone else was doing, he still stood up to fight. Vice was around, at least, so he wasn't about to lose face.
"Sitri, Mudo again!"
The leopard roared and stretched its wings. A writing mass of darkness swirled around the Sun Shadow and then shot upwards through it in a suffocating hold.
