Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.
Xain looked on dumbly. He was numb. He didn't even register the horrifying amounts of pain he was in. He fell to his knees and was healed, but that did no discernible good. After all, it wasn't that had brought him to his knees.
Vice had been the first friend the robot had made in the city, and now he was dead. Xain couldn't believe it. He stood up, realized how much damage had been inflicted, and looked at the demon shadow. He was scared. He was sad.
He was pissed.
"AW FUCKING HELL NO!" he started to yell. "YOU FUCKING BASTARD, I AM GOING TO KILL YOU!" The android, seized with rage and grief, started running and quickly attached his spears where his hands normally were. He jumped in the air and simply brought down his weapons. It didn't register that he had spoken. It didn't register that he was acting in a stupid manner. Grief registered.

If he thought that it was chaotic when he first arrived, he wasn’t sure what to call the situation now that he witnessed the attacks exchanged. Thankfully, he wasn’t there for the attack that came with a flash and injured badly those that were hit, but he could see the other sentient shadow let loose. Luckily, however, he was still far away for the attack to reach him, so he could avoid that one, but when the corrupted god moved, he knew he was out of luck.
A thick purple miasma covered the field where the users were fighting. Tatsuma automatically covered his nose and mouth with his arm. Whatever that thing was, it reminded him of poisonous gas, so it was best to avoid it. The spikes were raised after, and Tatsuma was too slow to get out of their way. One of the spikes hit him, and pain shot through his left side where he could feel the spike open a wound on him. He fell to his knees, his energy leaving him fast, faster than before. He had already met shadows that could deal greater damage than himself, but this was something different entirely. He heaved heavily, and could only barely hear the shout of the blond woman. And only because the name she yelled sounded vaguely familiar. Vice? He met someone called Vice, but he was very much alive... Could something have happened, or was that not even the same person they were talking about? He couldn’t stop thinking about it now. He had to focus on staying conscious, and attacking that huge shadow. Most of the people here seemed to take that as priority. But he doubted he could move with that injury now...
A refreshing wave washed through him, which surprised him so much he zoned out for a short moment, searching for the source of the healing spell. If he could, he would thank the guy right there, but he wasn’t sure he would be recognized in all this chaos. He could only grin and get back up on his feet.
“Behemoth, rush at it again.”
The beast was ready and charged the corrupted god to sink its claws deep into its body. Tatsuma could see another person going close to the shadow and dealing attacks close-up. He idly wondered why he wouldn’t just summon his persona for battle, but he knew sometimes it was easier to dish out attacks in person. Maybe he was like that too.

Vice... dead? By a shadow? That's... That's not possible! That's not fucking possible, he couldn't of been overpowered, it's just not fucking POSSIBLE!
Tristan was simply walking forward, taking the hits from the god shadow's attack. He didn't care, it just fueled his rage. He heard Phoebe telling him to focus on the god, but he wasn't going to listen. Vice had been a friend.
Grabbing on to the silver necklace he had received from Vice only days before, the young boy looked up at the shadow. He felt nothing but hatred for shadows now. The creature caught within his gaze, it was something that needed to be slain. All of the filthy, degenerate creatures that were shadows needed to be killed. It didn't matter what "side" they claimed to be on, they needed to die.
Tristan turned back to the tiger that Phoebe had claimed as a pet. "Hey, Gin?" he called, attempting to get the disgusting thing's attention. "Didn't I tell you last month that the next time I saw you, we would be enemies?" The boy said this as calmly as possible then summoned Ifreet. "Megidola." He focused his energy to hit all of the shadows, from the raging turtle to the corrupt god to the tiger. And he made damn well sure that it was directed at the creature who dared slay his friend.

When people started to yell over the "Vice" guy, Gin wasn't sure what was going on. After all, causalities were to be expected during times of war; and these humans did consider this a war, didn't they? If they weren't going to realize this wasn't a game, the tiger had no reason to assist them.
Still, he turned to the one boy when he was addressed. Having not been hit by anything that would actually harm him, Gin was actually in a good mood about this fight. It didn't seem the god could actually harm the tiger. However, the boy launched an almighty attack, hurting Gin when nothing else had. Now the tiger was irritated.
"Kid, what the hell?" the shadow asked. "What, are you pissed at me 'cuz your buddy died? Too fucking bad! Death is going to happen, and don't kid yourself and say it isn't. Now then, you need to be taught a lesson. You ready?" The tiger then released his own almighty spell, hitting the other shadows and the boy.

Well. That happened. Everything was just going in, people shouting, people screaming, and people making some commentary about people dying, and why the hell was every thing turning out this way?! Attacks left and right, buffing right and left, Was this what these people did every month?
Hell, the next Vincent knew was that he was falling down after a particularly bad shock wave. It didn't do jackshit to him though, so that was a plus. However, with his rather lame positioning, the next wave of attack pretty much left him with no chance of dodging. Thrown back like a rag doll, his systems barely being able to cope with the damage dealt to him, Vincent was just about to perform an emergency shut down when his systems suddenly went and shot itself up back to the clear.
Somehow still being able to stand, most likely thanks to the numerous other users helping them out, Vincent once more stood tall and raised Orpheus high into the air. The other shadows can wait--the demon god had to fall first.

Now another person seemed to be a shadow here. How many were there. She wanted to shout something like. 'If there is an entire army there come out now, we don't have all night!' But she knew if she was going to do that a real shadow army was most likely to pass. So she just gulped that sentence back in her mouth. But really though. She had been dodging a lot of attacks. Most of which almost hit her. She really wondered how long she was going to keep that up. It won't be long most likely. She could feel healing coming over her but as she wasn't hit yet it didn't had any effect. So she just fired another gust of wind at the three shadows. "Go!" She shouted while Elf appeared and fired a boosted Magarula at the three shadows.

Seriously, a fourth shadow? The universe must enjoy making people miserable. This better be the last one showing up tonight. There was still at least four times as many Persona users, but that didn't mean they were strong enough to handle multiple enemies at the same time. Brynhild didn't have that much confidence in their success. She wasn't about to admit that running away might be the smarter option, but if they could stop this eternal midnight the shadows would leave. Her bloodlust would prefer killing them now, but that wasn't happening.
Too caught up in figuring out what to do, Brynhild did not even notice that the new arrival had attacked. The force of the blow immediately knocked her down to the ground. Alarms blared in her head as internal systems began to shut down. She had taken too much damage. Life support was trying to enter hibernation mode to avoid permanent damage.
It should have tried to avoid the next attack, but again she neglected to see it coming. Something got crushed, although it was impossible to tell now. All processes halted what they were doing and turned off. She wouldn't be able do anything besides lie there.
There was a rain of all different types of attacks. From things he completely nulled, to things that barely hurt, to things that did some noticeably damage, and then there were the pierce attacks. None of them specialised so much in his other weakness that it bothered him too much, but the whole deal with Pierce attacks did quite a bit on him. Not the lower ones, they hurt but not so much as those who were around his Human's level. Now that was a problem in and of itself. Weakened to the bone, and the others strengthen to the core. The Shadow could probably last quite a bit more of this so long as he stayed focused on what had to be done.
But…this was just so much fun. The thrill of battle, the undefeatable odds, it made his blood boil in excitement. It wasn't so much a test for his power but it made him realise just how much more he had to do in order to make himself worthwhile. He may have been weakened, and damaged, but he wasn't going to fall here. There was simply too much fun to be had. Raising his hand into the air, energy being gathered into his hand so, he did however raise a curious eyebrow at the sudden mess of emotions that he could taste in the field.
Heh, so his Human had made these many connections?

Alvis continued to focus on the girl with the succubus even as his attacks hit everything in the area without care for the recipient. Many attacks came to hit him as all of this was going on, but the man simply continued his assault. It may have only been aimed at Akira, but that rage managed to seep into the entire battle. Well, perhaps "burst" was a more accurate word?
If you stand still for a moment, I'll be able to FIX THAT FACE OF YOURS. Truly, the man did not like Akira's face. He made that perfectly clear during their first battle. These other people? He didn't like looking at them much either, but he still had a score to settle with the scissor girl. He would deal with the others after he fixed her face a bit.

The Shrine God felt another onslaught of attacks from the group of users as well as a few renegade shadows. But the shadow was just getting warmed up. With a smirk, it began to prepared for its ultimate attack! The poisonous gas all around it began to close in on the group as if to suffocate everyone. The purplish hue that the gas gave off slowly became a shade of deep black. The gas itself permeated what could only be described as "death." This "death" slowly closed in on the group of users. It was the end.
Except, it wasn't.
A sound rang out in the distance. it was something that could only be described as a rail-gun being fired. A moment later, a large white quadrupedal beast jumped through the black death cloud, lunging at the shadow. Its teeth seemed to glow slightly as it bit into the corrupted shadow's neck, sending beams of light protruding out from all over it. The shadow immediately gave a grim look as it slowly dematerialized under the jaws of this beast. The corruption began to slow as the beast, which with a better view, appeared to be a large white wolf that seemed to have extremely vibrant fur. In fact, it seemed so vibrant that it gave off the appearance of a rainbow. This beast closed its jaws down on the shadow even harder, causing the shadow to dissipate completely. There was a pause from the wolf as it looked down at everyone. It was currently perched on top of the shrine, as if it was weightless. No force seemed to be exerted on the building. There was something different about this beast though. Though, this feeling could only be felt by someone who was familiar with the feeling that shadows gave off. This thing did not give off those feelings. This felt like something completely different.

The new enemy looked up to the air before giving a loud howl that gave off an eerie vibe. All enemy buffs have been removed!
Taking up a battle stance, the beast began to give off an electrical charge that built up before being sent out in all directions. These volts began hitting everyone for Major Electrical damage!
Afterwards, the shadow lunges down at the users and swipes at Jaelyn for Severe Slash damage! After this, the shadow returns to its perch on top of the shrine as it prepares for another attack.

Her news caused the battle to turn into a frenzy. Perhaps her words were too crass, perhaps she really should have kept that part a secret and just claimed that she fought it--him in the past and that's why she knew what it was weak to. Those were both her attack types after all. No, that was the wrong way to think. Everyone needed to know that their potential friend and/or mentor was dead. She made the right choice, she was certain of it. What they needed now was not lies or to be coddled to protect their precious feefees, and given her life philosophies she was ashamed she thought otherwise for even a moment. What they needed was a leader, a strong leader, not an ineffectual one that gave absurd orders that would never work. Holly wasn't sure if she was ready for it at this point given how little she knew about so many of them, but she was the best thing they had right now.
Holly glanced around the battle field once more. It was this kind of thing that probably created shadows in the first place now that she thought about it. Feelings of despair, of incesurity, of anger, of hate...all the things happening here. She had to stop this, she wasn't going to let anyone else be killed by their own shadows. It had a nice ring to it. Save the people that needed the help most to stop their shadows from being born in the first place. It wouldn't solve all their problems, afterall they still had a war to fight and she still had problems with killing the ones that weren't mindless, but it was becoming more obvious to her that she had a choice to make. It was unfortunate that she had to choose which lives were more valuable, but that's what war did to people. In the end, she wasn't going to let the other users die in order to save shadows. She clutched her chest for a moment and then put her hands by her sides and balled them into fists.
She was about to shout when the fog the shadow created was starting to surround them, practically sucking the air out of the place. It was similar to the stuff the shadow was using to kill everything around it, so she wasn't sure if she could touch it either. It continued to creep closer as Holly looked for any way to possibly get everyone out of here, or hell even some people out of here, but it ended up being unnecessary as something else came running in and basically ripped the shadow's throat out. Well okay. As this was happening, the other shadows attacked too. The turtle missed her completely, but Vice managed to actually hit her for the first time. She would congratulate him, but this wasn't the time for that. Even someone that was half asleep and barely paying attention could notice that the battle wasn't done yet by any definition of the word, and it wasn't just because of the two sentient assholes over there. The sky was still purple, the shadows were still in their shadow forms, and they could still use their personas. Despite the sense it gave off, that shadow was not the target they were supposed to face, or if it was it wasn't the only one.
It was so strange, this entire night was. The shadows were attacking each other, everyone was panicking, some people on the users' side were even attacking each other. The newly emerged wolf made it clear that it wasn't their friend, that it wasn't anyone's friend. She couldn't sense any other oppressive presences, so whatever was attacking the city tonight was still here. There weren't very many conclusions someone could make from that. She stood on her toes slightly, though it wasn't very noticeable, to make herself slightly taller and shouted. This shout dwarfed even her last announcement.
"EVERYONE! CALM DOWN!"
If the sound of her voice wasn't enough to get peoples' attention, the bright light coming from her likely would be. Her persona, Anaisa Pye, appeared in front of her, with her eyes closed and a small smile. Just a moment later, she started glowing, brighter and brighter until Holly couldn't even look at her anymore. The light died down quickly, and in Anaisa Pye's place stool a woman with dark hair and four arms. No words were necessary for Holly to understand what she was. This was Lakshmi, her new partner. Lakshmi made a small gesture with her hands, and Holly and all of her allies were covered in a light green light and a light blue light, restoring a small amount of HP and SP respectively. The lights died down, but the power remained with in everyone. At the start of everyone round, everyone would, once again, regain a small amount of HP and SP.
"I'm glad you all took my request so seriously, but this isn't what I had in mind! Did you all forget why we were here in the first place? The entire city is in danger. We don't know what'll happen if we let the city stay like this for too long, and we can't afford to leave what's likely causing it alone!" she pointed at the shadow newcomer. "Unless any of you have any insight as to what else could be causing this, the fact that there are no other ridiculously strong presences suggests that the thing we need to eliminate is standing right in front of us and it isn't the sentient shadows! If this thing is as strong as the other enemies we've faced on the full moon, and it probably is considering it just bit the thing we were just fighting in half, then it will take all of our power combined to take it down. Don't let losing someone, don't let a single shadow's victory make you lose your will to fight!
"I don't know all of your abilities or your strengths. I intend to fix this, but there's no time for that right now! Regardless, all of you have shown yourselves to be competent in the past, so I have complete faith in your ability to make good battle decisions. The winged shadow is weak to pierce and wind, and nulls slash. It's now neutral to darkness thanks to the efforts of our allies. If anyone has fought the other sentient shadow tell us everything you know! It's important to keep these things in mind, but right now the most important thing is to figure out what the newcomer is weak against so we can take it down! We can't just abandon the city, throw everything you've got at it! Leave healing to myself," she gestured to herself, "Ran," she pointed at Ran, "And Rikki," she pointed at Rikki. "If you have any empowering spells then now's a good time to use them, especially if the attack type you would use has already been used by someone else! I'll continue to weaken all of the enemies."
With that, she took a few steps towards where Tristan and Gin were standing. It took all her self control not to smack them, but if they kept this up she'd happily smack some sense into them. Holly still spoke like she was addressing everyone, but was looking at and gesturing at the two infighters.
"Finally, we need to fight as one group, one unit. Any personal problems between allies can be dealt with after the battle. We are fighting three very powerful foes, we cannot afford to have any infighting or other hindrances making us weaker as a team. Knock it off." She turned away from them and started to return to the spot she once was. "We're stronger together. That's the lesson Vice was unable to learn. Whether it be in battle or out of battle, use your allies for support and work with them to become stronger than anyone could ever imagine. Let's destroy these things."
With that, she summoned Lakshmi for the first time, to finish off weakening Vice and to begin weakening the new shadow. This was going to be a long night. Somehow, Holly doubted that her battle would end when the shadows fell.

The distress of everyone else over Vice's apparent death was evident. Just about everyone who Pyxis suspected had any kind of connection with him was upset at best, and freaking out dangerously at worst. Not Alisa, though, interestingly enough. And not Pyxis either. Even when the shadow said something very Vice-like, Pyxis didn't react to it. It was just as she had already said. She had nothing to say to the shadow. She was going to be the one to end it. That was all. And if she had to be the one to stay calm in the face of everything else going on, then so be it. She would take on that role. Misfortunes covered the entire city, stealing away even the strongest among them, but still, she remained. Was she a light in the dark, or something to cling to until their very last breath? That was something only she could decide. And so she did: she would be a light in the dark.
Elpis...never had the identity of her Persona been more fitting.
But that was when everything changed. The cursed god prepared some kind of ultimate attack, only for something else, something entirely unfamiliar to Pyxis, to appear, and to destroy the shadow in a single blow. It then perched itself on top of the building, but seemed to exert no force on it, as though it had no weight to speak of. Pyxis tried to get a read on the new enemy, but as she did so she realized that, while it had easily overpowered the massive shadow that had just been here, it felt nothing like it. The oppressive sensation she associated with very strong shadows simply wasn't there. But that couldn't have been possible. That either meant that it was so weak that Pyxis simply wouldn't notice it next to the winged Vice killer and the angry turtle (impossible, since the feeling she got from the cursed god was much stronger), or...
"That's not a shadow!" She said that on instinct, although it changed very little. It was still clearly an enemy, as it proved by turning its attacks on the group right as Pyxis spoke. She got hit by an electricity attack, but that didn't matter to her anymore. The damage was just something she would have to deal with. She'd been hit by the Vice killer shadow too, and was still standing. It hurt, but she wasn't in critical condition. Not yet. And until she was...no, even if she was, she would keep pressing forward. As long as it took. Through death, or through retreat, she would not abandon the people of this city.
The blonde girl spoke up soon after, attempting to rally everyone together. Pyxis felt an entirely different empowering aura surround her, one that started repairing the damage she had sustained and restoring her energy. Ah...the girl's Persona had changed too. "Well said," Pyxis said when the girl finished. "I have nothing to add to that, save to remember, we are this city's hope. Nobody's going to miraculously replace us if we die here or run away. So stay strong, but don't go dying on me here either. We've already lost enough." She closed her eyes for a second. Then, as though acting on her own, her Persona unleashed another rain of brilliant arrow-like projectiles on all three shadows.

Again, attacks flew her way. The mute was left untouched, either because the attacks missed or she dodged. That is, up until the god was ripped apart by the rainbow wolf. What, was this the gay furry pride envoy? Whatever the case, it didn't feel like a Shadow. No, it was. . . inherently different. Different from the mooners, different from the humanoid Shadows. It was just inherently different from Shadows in general. Then the girl felt her boosted strength revert. And then lightning surged and fried her. Hair clung to her shirt. A few strands stood straight up. Mother fucker. Fortunately, her phone was good. Then again, it was built to be resistant to EMP charges. That shit was built to last, and for good reason.
And then some constant droning came from one of them. Well, the girl's mood had already gone further to shit. All she got from it was some friendly-yay-friends-bullshit.
”Something apparently happened in the two months I didn't bother showing up. 'cause, it's seeming like someone made blondie the golden king. Bitch. Shut the fuck up. Everyone here came for themselves or for an extension of their own interests. If shit gets tough, they'll run, regardless of what you say! Moving on, no fuck it's not a Shadow, you damn maid-cosplaying apple-headed idiot!” She didn't even bother to pause between bashing people. Why? One was trying to act like a prim and proper leader. The other was stating the obvious. What the shit. She missed a lot, apparently. Either way, she felt a tiny (read, minuscule) bit better after that. ”Now, if you're kindly done fucking polluting the airwaves, lets get back on with the killing Shadows bit. And that thing.” With that, the mute rolled her head around on her shoulders, focusing her gaze on the wolf. Eh. It used lightning. It looked like a gay pride icon. No reason to doubt it would be burned by Trisagion.
”Again, Tamamo. Trisagion.” Where her first rant was announced loudly that just about anyone there would have heard it, the command was more localized- it was intended for herself and her Persona. Her phone was good at pressure-sensitive projection, after all. The kitsune spread her arms out, again as though she were beseeching a blessing from the heavens, before a glorious star was born, burning bright before descending and exploding. Naturally, she targeted both of the Shadows and the wolf-thing.

Where the Vice-killer's earlier attacks had been easy to avoid, it seemed that the winged-thing managed to finally get an attack to connect with him. Well, that was fun. Only, armor and buffs made it pretty easy to withstand. Still, between that spam and the constant (easily avoidable) pulses from Golden Turtle X, Akira found it somewhat doubtful that the other healer was going to be able to keep things up. The god was making a fuss before becoming prey for some vibrant wolf. Well, it didn't feel like a Shadow. He wasn't sure what it was, but it felt different. On top of that, it was there during that “midnight” full moon thing. It had to be tied to it. In other words, killing it was just as good! Probably.
And then, in what seemed to be the fashion for Shadows nowadays, he felt his buffs get wiped. Son of a bitch. So they were stuck with a fresh new enemy, one with buff-wiping, and people were all making noise. How. . . bloody annoying. Holly was basically trying to organize people. He could understand that. If she was going to opt to try to take the leadership role for a bit, that was fine. Meant he didn't have to. Still, he did feel the need to correct something. After all, this wolf just wiped their buffs. Wasting time trying to put them back up was. . . well, a waste. At least until it was sealed or killed.
”Not much of a point to put buffs back up unless this thing can't use them anymore. Just saying.” With that, Elma emitted a healing wave over everything the boy recognized as an ally. ”I think another cure for status effects will be necessary, too, so if someone could get that, that'd be appreciated!” He noted before stretching his body out a little bit. How to best address the situation beyond what he was already doing? That was the issue right now.

Oh boy things are going to be more trouble some aren't they? Everyone seems to be in a panic. He honestly didn't care. He was just hoping that this sentient shadow doesn't pull off any surprises. Aleister readied his gun once more. This was going to be amusing. The shadow prepared another large blast like last time.
"Use everything you've got. He wouldn't accept anything less!" He unleashed the attack but this time around Aleister dodged the attack.
"I guess that means he won't hold it against me if he-" Aleister felt a force that slammed him against a nearby tree. He sadly laughed as he collapsed on to the ground. "Oh yes, forgot you existed." He slowly got up. Before he could do anything about it heard a long sound. He looked over to see that it appeared that they got a new comer. "So it's going to be like last time?" Aleister began to laugh. This was a treat. Two full moon shadows and three sentient ones. Plenty of things he can do his research on.
"EVERYONE! CALM DOWN!" Aleister looked over at the blonde who yelled. She began her speech. He had to give her credit. She had the bravery to attempt to salvage the situation...but...
”Something apparently happened in the two months I didn't bother showing up. 'cause, it's seeming like someone made blondie the golden king. Bitch. Shut the fuck up." It seemed that not all were in favor of this speech. Aleister laughed as she turned around to face the shadows once more.
"If I may toss my opinion, I honestly side with both of you. Human civilization was built because people decided to work together but humans can be selfish creatures...we are contrary by nature though...and that is what makes you two limited." Aleister aimed his gun...not at the sentient shadows, not even the corrupt god, or the wolf that threatened to devour them. He aimed it at the girl's phone. The source of her 'voice'. "The only thing polluting the airwaves is this poisonous fog. I think you should be aware of reality...but then again...you use that thing to escape the fact that you don't have a voice..." Aleister pulled the trigger. Not caring if it hits her, the phone, or not.
