Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Jonathon quickly noticed just how entirely opposite the two creatures were. Aside from appearance, the attacks that damaged them, the things they were weak to, even their attack pattern. One threw fire, one through ice. Both of them hit Jonathon and he found that the fire hurt significantly more then the ice did. He made a note to attempt to avoid fire more often. He also felt a myriad of emotion. A strange mix of rage and love with no real target for either. He was very confused until he heard one of the other persona users shout something about trying a new skill. Then the fog in his mind began to clear and his emotions were under control again. "Alright, time to rethink my strategy." He said, realizing that no matter what spell he knew he had, it would harm one, but heal the other, seeing as all of his attacks seemed to hit multiple targets. "Hmm...How about this, Poison Touch!" He shouted, summoning his persona and having it send a spew of toxic gas at the lighter shadow.

Hmm... the shadows seemed to be doing something. It was a stern reminder to John that he wasn't dealing with run of the mill shadows here. A sizable amount of the destruction flying his way hit him directly. Although he still managed to doge te wind based attack.
He collected himself from the ludicrous amount of damage he just received. He was thankful that he had been wearing armor. However, his head felt woozy and infocused. this passed before it could affect his performance thanks to another user activating some kind of healing spell. "Well, that hurt, everyone alrigh." He looked over to Phoebe and was surprised to see she was completely unscathed from the onslaught that just happened. "You can tell me later how you managed to dodge all that shit, Now is a time for fighting."
Phoebe had shouted tactical advice all over the combat space. It made John realize he had a stunning lack of variety in his offensive options. Seeing as his only elemental attack would hit both targets, which would probably just even each other out, he decided to take a more physical approach. He commanded Ippon-Datara to chuck a bomb at the two large entities. the attack tired John out even more. He really hoped someone would use a healing spell soon. Preferably before the two dancers attacked again and turned him into a red skid mark on the ground.

Four attacks, varying in strength from bearable to anyone not weak to them (at least, before the defensive enhancements other Users had brought to the table) to considerably stronger. Pyxis herself was in little danger from them, having successfully dodged the fire and ice attacks while being nowhere near the lightning one which would have posed a more serious threat to her. Several other combatants weren't so lucky. Pyxis watched some of them take serious damage, while others fell under the effects of rage and charm. At this rate, if they didn't cure it the entire team would fall apart. And Pyxis had no means of dealing with that.
Helpless. That was the other thing she had felt after hearing the news about Chidori. Everything that could have been done, it was already too late to do. And if there was really nothing she could have done, that just made the feeling worse. She couldn't help her. And just like then, she couldn't help her allies. What did she do now? Keep fighting, or try to force the rest of them out of the fight so that they wouldn't pose a threat to her or each other? No, that wouldn't do any good. The shadows could just do the same thing all over again, and the next time she might not have been as lucky.
No...
Then, the very strange blue-haired boy stepped forward, doing something to release all of them at once from their afflictions. Amrita. Of course. The same thing Chidori had used in the hospital fight when one of them had been poisoned, silenced, or put to sleep. She had known that and expected that then, so why had she forgotten now? Of course someone would be able to do that. Everyone had their own abilities. That was why Pyxis preferred to fight alongside capable allies in the first place.
But that, in turn, meant she had to do everything she could to protect them. So long as it was in her power, she couldn't let any of them die. Not a single one. "These people," she said, calling forth Pandora again, "Are under my protection."
For even if she couldn't do everything, Pyxis could still bring people hope.
The artificial body of her persona, Pandora, dissolved, leaving only the cylindrical box, the pyxis, she once carried behind. The box fell to the ground, and the lid fell open, exposing its insides to the world. And as the box opened, the last spirit trapped within, Elpis, or hope, finally emerged. Unlike the obviously artificial appearance of Pandora, the new Persona looked much more human, save for the obviously mechanical hands and eyes, and the hair like fiber optic strands. As she stood to her full height, parts of her dress and the tips of her hair lit up with dots of light. And in that moment, Pyxis realized that she had seen her before. Every time she had used a charged attack, this spirit had emerged rather than the usual eerie appendages. Elpis had been within the box the entire time, just waiting to be released.
The earth and seas are full of evil, and yet here I remain, the spirit spoke. I am Elpis. Will I be your light in the dark, or will you cling to me until there is nothing left? That, child, is for you to decide.
And with Elpis's emergence, Pyxis felt a surge of new power flowing through her body. Power she hadn't thought she would be able to bring forth. So this was the true 'power of the heart.' Not something restricted to humans, but accessible by anyone with enough strength of will to possess it. And so, she'd put it to use right away. A brilliant light shone from Elpis's form, spreading across the battlefield. As it hit Pyxis, she felt all her senses sharpen, and as she looked over the shadows she started to see weaker points in their bodies. Points she could attack physically for extra damage. Now, the fight would really begin.

Ringo watched as others poured in, some even being from the previous full moon battle. His Tokoyo's attack seemed to scratch the shadows but not in any significant way. Light and electricity seemed to be effective on the moon like shadow. Something Tokoyo has plenty off even if magic is not its specialty. But even so it still had access to two of the spells that seemed to harm the moon shadow greatly. He was about to call upon his persona to attack but the sun like shadow started to send a torrent of fire toward them.
Ringo winced in pain. He should've been paying attention to the other shadow as well. However before he could respond he was hit with a large surge of lighting from the shadow as well. It was a miracle he was even still standing. Another close cut was when the moon shadow sent a blizzard like attack. He managed to move out of the way but as soon the shadows summoned its blades to perform a wind attack Ringo was blown back before he hit a bench.
"Zio!!" Ringo managed to call out. Tokoyo floated back and sent a bolt of electricity from her sword towards the moon shadow. It wasn't much since its physical attacks are much stronger but none the less he could at least contribute to damaging it.
There was something poetic running around Vice's head about this whole thing. The light and the darkness, hah, had he been a few years younger there might have even been a bit of black eye liner and nail polish to go with the poem but as it were, in the heat of battle, he doubted anyone had a need for a depressive song and dance number. Returning back to the fight, the red eyed User felt the resurgence of power flowing in his body and all too familiar feeling of being on the peak of his game was as welcome as ever. The Shadows, however, had finally decided to launch their own attacks at their opponents. It was a plethora of attacks, with the same kind of variety that could be expected from 4 different people, that washed over the main group of the users.
Thanks to the stacked buffs however, Vice pretty much finally had the ability to successfully dodge these things. Flames washed just right over his head, lightning coursed just around him, and the ice spikes had been a close call but nonetheless was dodged. It was, however, a bit of a rough landing from the last attack and Vice had been too off balance to dodge the last wind attack sent his way. The armour he wore, along with the empowerment from his team, had been enough to keep him standing from what should have been a devastating attack. Standing upright once more, surveying the damage being done all around, Vice once more called forth for the fallen emperor.
And then he felt the need for war, the need to succeed, the need for revolution fan within him. It took all of his will power not to burst out laughing like a maniac. It was, however, not enough to stop the Fallen Emperor himself from laughing as it raised its blades to the sky and with a command from Vice, charged in towards the enemies once more.

Amane's eyes widened when she watched the moon shadow absorb her wind attack. Okay so it absorbs wind, but on the other hand, fire, light, and electric attacks harm it greatly. If the shadows really are related that means the sun like shadow has opposite weakness and that should be the one she should be targeting. Amane readied to redirect Silky's attention however the sun shadow unleashed a powerful fire attack.
Amane winced in pain however the sun's assault was not done. She was struck again by lighting. The onslaught didn't end there. The moon started to fight back. Icicles shot out of the ground. Amane winced in pain as one scratched her. Thankfully just a scratch seeing as how Silky resists ice however the next attack she couldn't endure. A powerful gust of wind blasted Amane back until she hit one of the icicles that were shot out of the ground.
"Ow...ow..." Amane tried her best to get up, no longer even being concerned about the staff she was separated from. "Silky!" Amane called out her persona once more. "Bufula!" The fairy appeared once more to shoot a large blast of ice towards the sun like shadow.

Just as she expected, these enemies were going to fight back. The first attack came which Luka was able to dodge quite easily. As it seemed, a few people had already boosted their abilities to maximum before the battle had even truly started. It was just more proof that everyone was starting to become more powerful as these battles continued on. Unfortunately, she was hit by the second attack from the light shadow. A lightning attack surged through her, doing a bit of harm, but nothing that she couldn't handle.
Following those attacks, Luka managed to dodge the two attacks that the darker shadow sent at her with considerable ease. And as she was charging, Luka had kept a close eye on which attacks were effective against what. From what she had gathered, the two shadows seemed to have completely different vulnerabilities. But the one thing that she picked up on in particular was that the bright one seemed especially vulnerable to dark attacks. Shadows that she had fought in the other areas never really survived more than one charged dark attack by her. And for them to be weak to darkness? That was just a slaughter.
Finally charged up, Luka set her sights on the bright shadow. A large mass of dark energy formed over her head that seemed to surge with power. Then, Luka let it loose as it drifted over at the enemy shadow. Hell's Judgement! And with that, the girl's attack had been set.

Fire works? Good.
Tristan had avoided the ice and lightning attacks. He had shrugged off the fire attack as it was nothing. The only thing that really bugged him was a wind attack, and it hurt. Still, fire damage doing good against the moon? That was wonderful news.
He noticed that many people were coming to fight, just like last month. Still, he didn't care as long as they didn't get in his way. Summoning Ifreet once again, he sent another fire spell at the moon shadow. It was weak against it, and that served Tristan's purposes well. "Agilao, Ifreet!"

Now that everyone seemed to be adequately boosted in terms of speed, Ally could focus on going on the offensive. But before she could do that, she needed to dodge all these incoming attacks. There were two enemies, meaning she would be ducking and weaving through everything like some character in a bullet hell game. Luckily, that is just what she did. As she ducked and weaved through blasts of fire, electricity, ice and wind, the girl came out unscathed by the enemy.
With a satisfied grin, the girl began to reach for one of the bombs in her pack. These enemies didn't seem to be strong against physical attacks, meaning anything was fair game. She decided to aim for the darker one on a whim, but before she could even pull out a bomb, something unexpected happened. Well, it was unexpected, but considered to the girl. As someone with narcolepsy, this was a common event. She had collapsed into a deep sleep right on the battlefield. Again. This had happened during the last fight as well. And so, the young blonde slept there as if oblivious to the world around her.

The Shadows responded with attacks of their own, and unfortunately I couldn't get out of the way to evade either of them. The first attack was a spell of furious flame, but fortunately I was resistant to most of the damage, so I simply weathered the attack. On the other hand, the other attack was a chilling touch of icicles that rose up and began to pierce at us. Yet, as I felt the icicles attack, I noticed it had a visibly adverse effect on some of the others. But me? I didn't feel a damn thing. "Eh? Eh? That ice attack is trying to bewitch us?" I called out to nobody in particular as soon the shadow of Moon again sent gusts of dark wind towards us, and I could feel the winds cut into me. It hurt, it hurt a bit, but I was still standing. I had grown a lot since the last battles.
One guy had decided to leave on the premise that he didn't seem to want to fight them; he just... I don't know what he wanted. Did he want to watch? I wasn't sure. Maybe he was a voyeur. I'll make him the subject of my next art. Okay, okay. As well, one of the girls I recognized from the last fight also ended up randomly falling asleep. Yo, girl, don't come to the fight if you're not confident your goddamn narcolepsy's going to act up on us! "Oi vey, Little Miss Sleeping Beauty fell asleep again over there!" I yelled out as I started to charge up my arm with electricity, aiming at the darker Shadow, since I knew that my lightning attacks did a good number on it.
I blasted the dark Shadow with another dose of lightning-y death, still wondering what the heck was going on with this motley crew of combatants. Phoebe seemed to take a more leadership role in this battle this time, but I honestly wasn't used to it...

And so the battle began in earnest, with the Shadows throwing a flurry of attacks at them. First came fire. Both the boy and Alma Elma just stared. That was easy enough, just standing and taking zero damage as the surge of heat and fire danced around him. What came after was a surge of lightning. The boy shifted to the left, and Alma to the right, evading the electric discharge. That was it, for the time being, from sunny-side-up. Meanwhile, Mister Mooner, or M'n'M, shot forth some ice. Ice was bad for the boy and his succubus, but there was an amusing kicker with the whole situation. That is, the attack was dreadfully off from the get go. Then came wind. The boy shot his hand up, and the succubus flew him out of the way. Their assault complete, the Shadows were then on the defensive again. So, considering things, the boy was pretty pleased. They'd effectively gotten enough info to fight their new enemies, seemed that they got all the buffs up in one go, and any nasty ailments were neutralized by Beer-Card over there.
All was good.
”Light and darkness mirroring each other- a pretty basic RPG trope. What one is weak to, the other almost definitely absorbs. Fun, fun. Uh, buffs are done! Pretty sure nobody will die yet without healing. Guess I'll play nasty.” The boy rolled his head around on his shoulders, still afloat thanks to Alma Elma's grip. With a will from the boy, the succubus released her charge. The crossdresser pressed his skirt down to prevent flashing anyone. Of course, if there was somebody there with enough time on their hands to watch, they obviously weren't doing a good enough job fighting. It was just a part of the role for the boy to play. Then, the youth smiled.
”Alma, time for a Dream Needle.” The succubus' tail split open, the prongs twitching as a large, hellish needle emerged from the demon's inner coil. The sleepy syringe was coated in a clear, sticky fluid. It was the chemical that put its targets to sleep. Would it work on a boss? Probably not. Rarely did in RPGs. Shooting at M'n'M, the seductress twirled and extended her tail, stabbing at the Shadow. There went the choo-choo.
Post by Jaelyn Callahan on Mar 17, 2014 20:57:50 GMT -5
Jaelyn could only whisper obscenities as she was hit by two of the four attacks the two shadows threw her way, including one of wind. Even the surge of power she had gained back when Andras had disappeared and Caligula appeared in her head in his place wasn't enough to protect her from that. The only blessing in it all was that while a third attack had hit her, it was one of fire. And fire no longer did anything to her. But the wind was still a problem. A big problem. A 'force Jaelyn to one knee while she felt like a few dozen knives were cutting her apart' problem. She was still standing, but at the moment, that only went so far. The pain was making it hard to so much as stand, much less fight back. But, by some miracle, she still managed to get back to her feet. Maybe it was the power she was currently feeling just from being around everyone else that did it. Just like last time, when their abilities had enhanced her strength, endurance, and agility.
Fuck if it didn't still hurt, though.
She fixed a glare on the shadow of darkness. It had been her target before, and was the one that had used the attack. Well, if there was ever any reason to keep doing what she'd been doing, that was it. It couldn't burn to ashes fast enough. And since fire was so effective... "Heheh," Jaelyn laughed, trying to block out the pain with her grim amusement at the situation. Lighting up the night? Sure, sure. She could work with that. She still preferred bringing down the heavens, though. "Caligula, burn it," Jaelyn called out, directing her persona to call down another pillar of flames on the darkness-themed shadow.

More and more people flowed into the shopping center, all, for the most part, working together to fight the menace before them. She felt warm. She felt capable. It wasn't just the empowering spells of their allies, but the fact they the all stood together as one. When the enemy assault came, the woman stood ready. She felt lighter than usual, so, naturally, she tried to avoid the attacks. The flames surged forth, and she stepped to the side. Just a bit too far, though, as the lightning came in immediately afterward. While she resisted it, damage was damage, and she had no desire to take it. Stumbling backwards, she avoided the second attack. On her rear, she leaned to the side before planting herself against the ground as the ice narrowly missed her, lightly frosting the back of her jacket. Finally, a gust of wind- the largest threat so far- ripped through the air. Hurriedly rolling to the side, she managed to dodge it as well. No doubt, that was the boon of working with others.
Struggling to stand, she willed for another Akasha Arts. The Shadows seemed to take the damage just fine, so it was a good chance to continue beating both of them down. The Persona charged itself before swinging its arms, sending forth waves of destruction.

Holly felt strong, tough and fast, unbelievably so and it happened so quickly. This was the first time she had experienced such a boost in power so quickly and she was eager to make use of it. The shadow's attacks came. With a quick step to the right, she avoided the fire, with a quick step back to the right she avoided the lightning. An icicle quickly appeared where she was stepping and she tried to jump to get out of the way, but she was just a bit too slow. Fortunately, her armor absorbed most of the impact, but she was still stuck in midair. It didn't matter though. When she saw the last attack was just a blast of wind, she just grinned and spread her arms rather than attempt any fancy aerial maneuvers. Her hair thrashed about wildly, but Holly herself landed on her feet unharmed.
An unfamiliar person asked a reasonable question. How should these shadows be taken out? It would make sense to take one out first but...the idea made her a bit uneasy just because of what these two things seemed to represent. Opposites, things that could not exist without the other...she had seen shadows with healing abilities before, was it possible that one could save the other from the brink of death? If that were the case it would make more sense to make sure that they were both finished off at the same time, but if it wasn't the case it would make more sense to focus on one at a time.
That's when she saw Luka's attack and the shadow's reaction. Her attacks hit that shadow extremely hard. If it were revived then it seemed likely that she could still take it down very quickly. The answer seemed obvious now, and with a nod she looked back up.
"I think we should just focus on the lighter one first! If we take one down quickly that'll mean less attacks for when we hit the second one. If you can hit that one effectively do so! I'll keep weakening them both."
Crux was satisfied with the attack making contact with the Sun Shadow, seeing that it was in fact weak to the particular element. It was obvious that something like that would be its antithesis. It's the SUN vs the primary element of the God of the Moon. However, the resistances that it did have seemed to expand much farther from just the basics; It absorbed a lightning spell with ease, like it was a soup that was being slurped up... by skin or something.
His ability to make analogies in his head was disturbed when he was pushed backward by flames. There was some sort of unusual property within them that almost made him feel like... killing something. For a second, he felt a little angrier than he normally would be. Anger never really reached him more than occasionally. If he were to be angry, then it would be more akin to frustration towards himself than material fury towards something else.
And then, he was struck by lightning. The clothing around him were blackened and charred, and he could see 'error' flash before his eyes in giant, red letters. System overloads weren't fun, especially when the amount of power being accumulated was about double his capacity alone. With his top mostly off, all that remained were the bandages. Even then, they were giving way. His shiny, black frame was slightly visible in the light shining off of the two Shadows.
The Moon Shadow was next, causing his body to freeze up in a build-up of ice. Crux's sparking body was soothed, but at the same time, further ravaged by the spell. This wasn't a normal spell either, and it evoked a desire to protect... but that was it. It wasn't strong enough to completely absorb his mind.
Crux struggled to stand up straight, but he managed. It'd take a bit more than that to take him out...
His head perked up to another familiar voice, which was Phoebe's. Then a few other voices. He stood still to watch the battle a bit more, and saw that it was about 50-50 with how the attacks were distributed. "Some of us seem to have the capability to harm only one. So, there's that." His voice showed no signs of weakness as he called out, contradicting the amount of damage that his frame had sustained. "Focusing attacks on the Sun. We'll do this once more, Tsukuyomi."
The Android pointed a finger at his intended target, and in return, his Persona fired another crescent-shaped wave of darkness at the Sunny Shadow. The moment after, he ripped off the bandages to completely reveal his black-painted body.
