1-51-5The fall of the first ally came to pass, a black-haired woman fell to the ground and made no other movements. Crux remembered the last fight under the full moon, how he was ordered to keep watch over the incapacitated. He dashed over, keeping one ocular sensory receiver on the enemies at the same time. He set himself between the body and the enemy, recognizing that he could take any hits for his comrade. The tall figure of Tsukuyomi shifted into an inky-black blob and reappeared between Crux himself and the enemy.
The robot was just in time; the demonic Shadow launched another heavy wave of unknown energy upon the party, consuming his body in its eerie light. The protective spells cast upon him as well as his special bandages softened the very very hard blow, though he was forced onto a knee to recover. Tsukuyomi mimicked his action, still in front of Crux and the body. As if in sync, the two brought themselves to stand up, the User taking into account the Shadow's words. By now, he had heard enough chatter to tell that this Shadow killed Vice. However, he was not doing this for Vice. As a matter of fact, knowing that a man whom he had a heart-to-heart with affected his emotions little. People died all the time. He should have accepted the consequences of fighting Shadows.
Mr. Hammertime was ready to let loose another attack of his own. His speed was affected negatively by the debuffs, however. It gave Crux enough time to attempt to carry Brynhild in his arms and hop out of range momentarily. He put her down behind a rock , and then pointed at the Shrine God.
"Tsukuyomi-"
Right before he ordered an attack on the primary Alpha-grade target before it could land its own desperation move, something ripped it apart. There was one less active Shadow, and their numbers decreased by one. Yet, the readings did not detect another signal to replace the lost one. This being was not a Shadow, as was noted by some of his allies aloud. It was a beautiful wolf covered in all sorts of colors. Was it, perhaps, a Persona? There was little of a moment to investigate; the new enemy removed the positive effects granted by the supportive spells and launched multiple arcs of lightning all around. Crux's HUD flickered erratically before regulating by itself. Static and smoke surrounded him, his clothes scorched by the attack.
Ruined clothing was not the only issue anymore, however. The Users lost themselves in their emotions, arguing amongst themselves, attacking each other both verbally and physically. They were falling apart. This was no good. Because of the Shadows and because of the incidents in this city, they had become involved and exposed to this stress and horror. Humanity was beautiful, and to have it corrupted like this was sickening. While it was impossible to convince these people who had so heavily invested themselves in uncovering the truth for one reason or the other, humans should have no part in this. They should go and live out their lives while the veterans, people who have trained or were designed to eliminate the Shadow threat. Many of the people here were children or young adults. In their fragile states, someone may get hurt or killed.
Reason was lost.
Shaking his head, Crux went again to attempt to carry Brynhild in his arms and stepped back in case he needed to evade another attack. A healing spell hit him, completely getting rid of all signs of 'injury', if that is the word to use. Again, Tsukuyomi lent his blade out to the moon, increasing its sharpness and power. The god spun horizontally and leaped at the Boreal Wolf, hoping to land a slash.
