Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.
Once again, Pyxis was bound by tentacles. Despite a valiant attempt to dodge, they still managed to catch her and snake around her body, holding her in place. And once again, she was robbed of the ability to simply start shooting by the way they squeezed and jostled her, preventing her from getting a straight shot at anything. But fortunately, just like when she was grabbed before, someone came to pry off the tentacles, getting them loose enough that Pyxis could easily finish escaping on her own. She turned to thank the person who had rescued her, who was...eh? She kind of reminded Pyxis of a princess from a video game. And with that thought shoved aside as 'low priority', Pyxis couldn't do more than nod at her before going back on the shadow, opening fire with her finger guns once again.

As though being repaid for her outburst and sudden urge to stab the shadow, Jaelyn utterly failed to avoid the thing's next attack. It cut straight through her clothes and body as it passed, leaving wounds that were soon healed up by...well, someone out there, at least. But the damage was already done. Jaelyn bowed her head and her hair, soaked in sweat to the point of looking stringy, fell over her face. "You worthless wretch," she hissed, glaring back up at the shadow. "Does it look like I can afford to have anything I'm wearing get torn up?! I don't own much of anything as it is!"
She put her evoker to her head and squeezed the trigger so fast, Andras might have appeared of its own accord. Another spear of energy materialized in its hand, drawn back to thrust at the shadow again. "I don't care what anyone else does, I'm going to stab you until there's nothing left," she said, directing the owl-headed demon and its spear forward and driving it at the shadow's body once again.

Another shockwave attack came, this one looking to be dead on the mark. Layla was ready for it though, and between reflexes developed through martial arts training and the helpful assistance of someone enhancing her agility, she managed to avoid it anyway. It was followed by more frantic gusts of wind, which were aimed at others and missed most of them. The shadow was clearly getting desperate. And on top of it all, it seemed that her lightning attacks were doing much more damage than before. It made sense, since it was now using wind-based attacks (rather than fire, which would suggest an ice weakness), but was still a pleasant surprise. Between that, and the fact that another girl who had just before hammered it with a massive darkness-based attack was winding up for another shot of it, they had to be nearing the end of the fight. After all, the shadow wouldn't be acting so frantic now if it still felt like it had an advantage.
...Probably.
The others (or at least, her fellow tank killer and a man Layla didn't recognize), called out the same conclusion that Layla had reached, spreading the word that the shadow was weak to electricity and (most likely) would resist wind attacks. Noting again its desperation, Layla decided to chime in as well. "Keep going!" she called out, before summoning Yamantaka again. "We're almost there, so hit it with everything you've got!" The Terminator of Death raised its vajra high, summoning another lightning strike to crash down on the shadow.

This thing certainly wasn't giving up any time soon - it kept up the barrage of attacks on their group...but only hit about half of them when it did; apparently those buffs were damned good. The girl who'd somehow been sleeping earlier managed to speed all of them up too, making them even harder for the giant shadow to hit. Of course, when it did hit, it hurt baaaad. Not to mention the tentacles that they just couldn't seem to dodge still searching for targets continually, this time wrapping around Alisa and Pyxis. Chidori's first instinct was to rush over and help them get free (those tentacles were disgusting things after all) but Juno's voice in her mind reminded her that she served the group far better by keeping up her healing.
Fortunately, she didn't have to debate over what to do for long as two others came to her friends' aid, freeing them up whilst yet another - Ran - healed them. Grinning a little and giving Ran a quick thumbs-up, the mute returned to what she currently did best - healing.
The attacks just kept coming at the shadow, giving it little room to breathe. It was clearly running out of energy as well. And by the look of things, the humans all seemed to be more than prepared to keep dishing out attacks. This fight was about to end, and it wasn't looking like it would end in favor of the shadow. Realizing this, it made an attack out of desperation.
[Grand Divide] x3
With an impressive flurry, the shadow attempts to hit everyone for major slash damage several times!
During the attacks that are going off throughout the auditorium, one can notice that the foundation of the building itself is beginning to crumble! The shadow is trying to take everyone down along with it by collapsing the building. This is your last chance to do as much damage as possible! Make it count!

Tristan was hit by the giant cleaver, but it wasn't as powerful as he thought it would be. It hurt, granted, but not as much as the shockwave that had hit him earlier. He looked up and saw that Pyro Jack had took the brunt of the blow, causing Tristan to just feel moderate damage. With that in mind, Tristan started coughing again. Still, he could tell that the giant was falling soon. And that meant that any attacks would be useful. Drawing on his fading mental reserves, Tristan summoned Pyro Jack again and cast Agi.
Shortly After casting, Tristan could feel a shift beneath his feet. He looked around, confused, trying to see if anyone else noticed the effects of this.

It seemed the shadow was going berserk at this point as it began to swing those cleavers around a considerable amount. Heck, it didn't even seem like it was aiming anymore. Ally braced herself for the attack. In fact, she didn't even bother to try and dodge anything that came to her. Of course, this resulted in her getting hit by one of the attacks, but the effects were minimal to her given her resistance to slash attacks.
She held her ground for a reason, of course. She was trying to get a read for just what the boss was doing. It only took a moment as the girl began to notice what was happening to the ceiling. Her eyes widened slightly as she realized how close they all were to being instantly beaten. Hey, dumbasses! Quit your healing and focus the enemy! The roof is gonna collapse if we don't! They needed to focus fire as much as they could to hopefully down the shadow before it downed the whole building. The girl decided to do her part as well by pulling out some of her explosives and lobbing them at the boss.

From the looks of things, the shadow was nearing the end of its rope. Maybe they could finish this thing off soon? Honestly, the boy was getting sick of just lobbing fireballs at the enemy. There wasn't really any dodging involved for him whatsoever. Hence when the flurry of attacks came at him, the boy put his hands in his pockets with a smile and simply waited for them to stop. Nothing hit him.
Shaking his head, the boy decided it was time to finish the job. Hopefully, anyway. Throne who was still right behind him moved forward lobbing another flurry of fireballs at the enemy.

Luka had been paying attention to all the minor details of the fight while she was charging up for her second shot. She saw each individual attack, who got grabbed, who got hit and so forth. Her insane degree of focus from Mind Charge made it possible. It didn't take her long to realize what was happening to the roof, naturally. Though she would have pointed it out, some girl in the front lines made that quite obvious. Perhaps not her choice of words, but the message got across nonetheless.
It was true that everyone needed to focus their attacks on the boss. If they didn't, it was likely that the building would collapse before that, resulting in everyone being crushed. Not to mention, she would likely have a lot more paperwork to fill out for student council if the building collapsed.
With all that in mind, the girl stopped charging her attack and went in for a finishing move. Again, Hel released a large, dark ball of energy into the air where it slowly drifted towards the enemy until it exploded in its face.

The slashing attack that the monster schoolgirl casted dealt major damage to him, but not enough to actually cause him pain. Although, he was breathing heavily due to sheer exhaustion from all that spell casting. He looked up at the roof and realized that it was about to collapse. His fellow allies were doing all they can to defeat the monster and prevent the roof from crushing them to death. It was ironic that he wanted to die right then and there, but actually had the will to live. The Pale Rider knew what his master had ordered him to and summoned several waves of dark energies to damage the monster schoolgirl. He reassured himself that the battle was almost over.

The next round of attacks came, but after Holly's debuffs the shadow was just too slow and clumsy to hit most of them. Holly herself easily dodged the first two attacks. The third was about to hit her, but her increased agility allowed her to stop to the side at the last minute making it so the shadow only cut a few hairs.
The shadow looked like it was finally running out of gas. Its reaction to losing wasn't entirely unexpected either. After all, if you knew you were going to die and you were an evil, demonic creature from who knows where, wouldn't you try to kill everyone that attacked you too? Still, feeling the building shake like this was unsettling. They had to finish it now.
"Right!" Holly nodded at the other blonde girl's words. "We can heal once we win!"
With that, she was in the same predicament as last round. She wasn't sure which of her shitty attacks was better than the other, but she supposed it wouldn't be wise to try to use the unknown on it. If the shadow absorbed wind instead of just resisting it then using it could get them all killed. Thus, Holly raised her knives once again and threw a few at the shadow.

Now, Akira tended to find blondes to be a bit ridiculous. There was the queen-complex Holly, for starters. Then there was the blonde owner of the Gap, with whom mileage would vary. Now there was somebody calling them dumbasses for healing the group. He ignored the hum of idiocy. No reason to pay credence to someone that didn't understand simply RPG tactics. However, he was fully aware that the Shadow needed to die. The structure was weakening. In his mind, the crossdresser sighed. He really did not want to address the issue when it came up in his office. That was just going to suck all kinds. Given the fact that the Shadow's accuracy was shit, and that he and others could dodge a majority of what didn't outright miss, he figured healing could be pushed back on the priorities. Perhaps even left out entirely for the other healer.
”Alma Elma, Agilao!” He directed coolly. The Shadow needed to die before it made his day job a living hell.
. . . actually, the damage was already done. It likely already had accomplished that.

Another assault came. It was a vortex of slicing waves, but Nisha found herself oddly unaffected for the greater part of the assault. When the last wave finally seemed as though it would collide with her, she awkwardly stumbled to the side due to her size, dropping to one knee in the process. The enemy was growing desperate. It was natural for the others to become worried. She wasn't going to let their efforts go to waste, especially not when she knew she could make a difference. Awkwardly shifting to stand, the giant willed for another Mustard Bomb, watching as Shango shot towards the enemy with an energy-filled fist. She wouldn't allow their efforts to be wasted like that.
Post by Ringo Shiro on Feb 20, 2014 19:30:09 GMT -5
The shadow sent another large wave of slashes. Ringo himself raising his sword to block...well...block would be putting it generously. Both slashes managed to hit Ringo. He just parried it to the point where it wouldn't kill him. As a result he has a large slash on his left side and a deep right shoulder wound. It was a good thing Ringo got all those heals and buffs because if he didn't, he was pretty sure he'd be uncontentious both due to the pain and blood loss.
Ringo then started to notice something...off about where he was standing. Granted Ringo wasn't in peak condition to be thinking let alone put his finger on why he felt off. Ringo wondered if it was another attack. It wasn't until the former sleepy girl started to point out what was going on.
"Hey, dumbasses! Quit your healing and focus the enemy! The roof is gonna collapse if we don't!" Impolite language aside, this was bad. Ringo readied his sword...until wincing in pain. Both from the wounds he just got and the fact that he remembered that his sword has no effect on the shadow.
Post by Amane Mana on Feb 20, 2014 19:40:15 GMT -5
Amane watched as the shadow unleashed another flurry of attacks. Unlike last time, she wasn't lucky. She moved out of the way to avoid being sliced in half but her eyes shot wide open in pain as she felt her left arm get a deep slash, her persona disappearing when she got hit. She was about to let her re-summon her persona heal...but a rather mouthy person has something to say.
"Hey, dumbasses! Quit your healing and focus the enemy! The roof is gonna collapse if we don't!" Well shit... Amane crushed her persona card and Silky once more appeared behind her. She hoped that this would kill it. She concentrated on the shadow as Silky launched another large blast of ice at the shadow to hopefully finish it off.[/blockqoute]
