Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.
The beast looked down at the small creatures once more. They launched their attacks just after him as it normally went. Of course, thanks to his increased agility courtesy of the tiny beings, he wasn't having all that much trouble with them. Isolde, Alice, Anna, Layla, Alisa, Pyxis, James, Amane, John, and Setsuna all miss their attacks! It was still better than their previous attempt, but still rather pathetic.
Even the shadows which had once tried to "ally" themselves with the dragon were now trying to deal with him. Yet, their attacks were still fruitless. The dragon had plenty of fight left in him, but so long as these guys kept getting healed every turn, there was little point.
The drake lets loose one more breath of fire on everyone, dealing major fire damage to everyone! Afterwards, the drake flaps its wings at insane speeds, dealing major wind damage to everyone!
But after that, the drake felt little reason or drive to fight. What point was there? It had honestly just lost all will to continue. So instead, the drake took flight once and began to leave. As it did, a large white orb of energy flew out its backside where it fell on all the participants, dealing massive almighty damage! Talk about a shitty fight.
Anyway, the drake leaves and seems to be gone for good. The dark hour effects should end shortly after this.

Tristan didn't believe it. The dragon just up and left, but of course it had to shit on its enemies. The most surprising thing wasn't that it felt the need to do that literally, but the amount of massive damage that it did. It seemed to shake all the way through Tristan's core.
The shadow knew he was in no condition for a fight after that blow. So, while he may still be better off than most of the Users, he stepped towards the end of the dock."We'll just have to finish this some other time," he said. With that, he sprung towards the water. He didn't start changing forms until he nearly landed so that his identity remained secret.
That was his insurance policy, after all.

Mother. Fucker.
Jaelyn had finally managed to hit with another attack. That was good. But soon after, the dragon started its attack again. Jaelyn found herself near enough to defend Setsuna again, so she once again interposed herself between the girl and the oncoming fire. But immediately after, the dragon took flight, leaving another huge blast of wind in its wake, along with an orb of pure energy. The last of those, to put it crudely, seemed to be the world's most murderous shit, a notion that was only strengthened when Jaelyn, still in position to guard Setsuna for little more reason than inability to move in time after the wind attack, took it at full force. Her body exploded with pain, and all her muscles seemed to give way at once. The moment the blast faded, she collapsed on the spot.
"That...was not how I..." she started, but her voice died in her throat before she could get out 'wanted that to go at all.' Her vision blurred, then started to fade. Feeling started to fade from her limbs. It was a welcome reprieve from the sheer pain wracking the rest of her body, but also a sign that she was losing consciousness.
Xain watched the dragon get hit by more attacks. More hit than last time, but it was still a sorry amount. It even retaliated with some more fire and wind, but that wasn't enough for the drake. Apparently, the dragon saw the fight as a bore because it took flight. Now, Xain's armor had handled a lot of the damage, but a lot still got through.
The shadow's bomb though, pushed Xain over the edge. He barely saw the shit land before to words "SYSTEM OVERLOAD" flooded his vision. The android fell to his knees as his systems went to sleep mode. He fell on his face oblivious to the world.

Gin saw the kid step away. He didn't mind. Unless the dragon attacked unexpectedly, the shadow would be able to cover the distance in enough time. Sadly, thats exactly what happened.
Gin hadn't thought of the distance between the boy and girl. When the dragon attacked, he leaped forward and realized the girl was now open. "Alisa, cover the girl; I'll get the boy!" he shouted as he got between the kid and the incoming fire. He could only hope Alisa had enough time to react. As soon as the fire stopped, a gale of wind caused harm to Gin. He handled it, though, and made sure that the kid wasn't hurt.
When the shit bomb dropped, though, Gin roared in pain. He checked to make sure the kid was alright and, content with what he found, started to complain. "Kid, you're lucky you're all right. If I were to judge by how painful that was for me, I'd say you would have been atomized." Gin grimaced. He shouted across the area while staring in the kids eyes, "Alisa! Are you and the girl all right?"
Then, in much quieter tones, he said, "You better hope she says yes, kid. Otherwise, it's on your ass"

Alright, progress was being made towards the drake's defeat, it wouldn't be long until... Wait a minute? The drake seemed to be retreating. It's parting gift was another round of attacks. the wind and the fire was quite a heavy punishment. John, expecting the assault to be over, looked up to see a giant projectile descending upon the users. He could only look at it in shock as the projectile exploded into a truly massive blast that tore through the area in an ewasome and terrifying manner. "Oh crap" Was all he could choke out before the explosion engulfed him and carried him off.
John realized quite painfully that the blast, though extremely destructive to both him and the other users, had not carried enough power to permanently take him out of the picture. His body was way too painful to move at this point though, he was only vaguely aware of his surroundings and felt the distant glow of another healing ability. It was not enough at this point however, a more concentrated ability would likely be needed. Like that one rather unsavory thing that one user had done to him at the shrine a month or so back. He dearly hoped that a different users would be in charge of healing downed users this time.
action: being downed by stupid giant wave of destruction.

Goddammit. This dragon just refused to go down. It seemed to be dodging mode of what everyone threw at it, and even with everything that wasn't missing, it still kept going. Or, at least it seemed like it was going to. Once again, the Drake let out another fiery breath, which Setsuna braced herself for. It wasn't going to hurt, but she'd at least remain standing. Hopefully. However, the unexpected happened, with Jaelyn jumping in front of Setsuna once again to take the attack. Not that she didn't appreciate it, but she was kind of getting mixed signals here. A moment ago, she had declared Setsuna was on her own (which she was fine with), but now she was jumping in front of her again.
However, that wasn't the end of it. The drake then took to the sky, unleashing a massive blast of wind in the process. Which was bad, since she was pretty sure Jaelyn was weak to Wind. Then, the drake...ran away? But not before literally crapping out one last attack "Wait...did it jus-" However, before Setsuna could finish her question, the blast hit everyone with the an insane amount of force. Literally the only reason Setsuna wasn't completely wiped out by that blast was because Jaelyn had shielded her from it. Jaelyn, taking the full brunt of all three attacks proceeded to collapse right in front of her.
"...no...no...c-come on...don't do this to me." The reality of it had hit her like a ton of bricks. Jaelyn was down, and it was because she had been protecting her from harm. Panicked and wracked with guilt, Setsuna began shaking the other woman, a look of desperation on her face "Come on, Jaelyn! Wake up! Th-this isn't funny!" At this point, she was starting to have a bit of a freak-out, though she managed to calm down just enough to notice that Jaelyn was still breathing. She was out cold and in really bad shape, but still alive. Of course, that brought the question of what to do now. there was no way she'd be able to leave her side, but...well, she'd have to go home eventually.

Just as all the attacks were flying at it, I soon realized that the adversary just didn't care anymore. I would commit the ability to destroy enemy's strengthening to memory eventually, but that was a far off thing. I would remember to obtain such a skill later though. But those thoughts didn't last long as the drake seemed to leave something from its backside as it began to fly away - a fearsome ball of bannou-class energy just literally crashing down upon her. Gin ordered me to cover the girl. "Quiet down you blunderbuss, she'll be fine, I'm doing this not because you're taking orders, but because--"
I scowled as I took the girl with the shield off to the side and let all of the dragon's attacks hit me in full force, I had not exerted a lot of energy this time, mind, so none of my previous injuries were going to affect me that badly, but it still hurt as I felt the winds and also the godforsaken bannou-class energy fart wash over me, it was a numbing, intense feeling all over my body. But I took it much better than the last time I had experienced such an attack. "Yaaaaahh~!!" I cried out in resistance of the pain, keeping myself focused and mitigating as much of the pain as possible. When the destruction passed, smoke was fizzling from my body and I was shivering and shaking on my two feet, though I was still standing. My head wound opened up again and seeped through my head-bandages, causing part of my face to have a gruesome red stain again.
My maid uniform was kinda ruined, too. Oh well.
I turned to the girl who I shielded, then I turned to the civilian who Gin shielded, then I turned to survey the damage. Someone was flipping out over someone who got herself knocked out trying to protect that person now in a nervous breakdown of some sort. I was a bit worried, but it was none of my business. "Christ Almighty. I'm fine, I've been through worse. I just have a headache. I suspect there'll be words for you folks yet. Shadow combat is serious business." I shot a glance at Gin as I mentioned how Shadow combat was serious.
"Now how's the civilian doing? Fine, I hope?" I sighed and looked around trying to find Pyxis.

Kami looked back from the giant tiger to the maid who first offered to protect him. They seemed to have taken the full brunt of an extremely powerful attack. The boy stood there, unable to find the right way to thank the giant tiger standing before him. His gratitude, though, was only able to do so much.
Kami still didn't know what was going on. People were dropping like flies, he could see that, but that didn't provide any answers."Listen, cat," he said. "Thank you for doing that. But I seriously have got to know what's going on here! I'm talking to a giant tiger who jut saved me from a fucking dragon. Everyone else who's here summoned monsters during the fight. I've seen a few weird things out of the safe zone, but this is bizarre! I mean... Have you ever been surrounded by people controlling monsters while you were taking potshots at a dragon?"
The boy stopped to take a breathe, then took a sweeping look over the area. He took note of every face he still saw standing. "Let me tell you, it'll make you want to start checking openings for padded rooms."
As if Anna wasn't already getting enough flashbacks to WyrmCon, the dragon shadow decided to try to up and leave. Only, this time, it succeeded, leaving behind a waste deposit made of pure murder, which exploded and ripped through just about everybody who wasn't shielded by someone else. Anna, too, was put in a bad spot by the blast, having already taken heavy damage from the blast of fire that came before. As the light faded, Anna took stock of herself, fighting through the sheer pain to make sure she hadn't suffered anything worse than the inability to move without hurting for the next day or two. As one last wave of healing energy washed over her, though, the worst of it faded, leaving her hurting but not all too concerned about her condition.
At the same time, though, a new source of pain had made itself known, and was currently invading her ears. She'd tuned it out through most of the battle, but by this point the kid fussing around for answers and complaining about the situation was impossible to ignore. This was way beyond inexperienced newbies. The kid didn't belong here at all.
"Okay, stop it," Anna said, approaching the civvie. Behind her, Thunderbird finally faded, disappearing back into the recesses of her mind. "You've been asking what was going on this whole fight, while everyone else was busy trying to not die. That was not the time, and you could have gotten someone killed by distracting them. Be grateful you didn't, or I'd be doing a lot more than yelling at you."
Dumbass kid. Anna had seen some stupid sorts, but most of them had the common sense to recognize a life or death situation. After that, only the most entitled brats would continue to demand answers before the threat had been dealt with. This kid seemed to be one of them. "You want to know what's going on? What's going on is that you walked onto a battlefield where you were so far in over your head I'm amazed you didn't drown, and didn't leave when I'm hoping you realized this. If you don't understand what's going on and everyone else does, you're probably not supposed to be there."
She couldn't accept their offers. A girl that looked vaguely familiar talked about being immune to fire, which made her a better choice for defending. Despite how logical the plan sounded, Brynhild hated the idea. It wasn't worth the risk. The boy would live no matter which one of them stood in front of him. She never even considered letting a human protect an android like her.
While she tried to formulate a polite refusal, a large tiger swooped in who also wanted to "help.” Honestly Bryn spent more time glaring than listening. Shadows are never trustworthy. They're all assholes. Some rational part of her mind argued that there could be an exception, that she had never spoken to one before today, but this wasn't the time for taking any chances. As he turned to face her, Brynhild backed away slowly. "Just stay the hell away from me.” She wanted to stab him for even getting this close, but everyone's supposed to focus on dragon. Kid started yelling about something that she really couldn't respond to without redirecting anger that he didn't deserve.
The dragon let out a burst of attacks as it tried to escape. For a second Brynhild failed to understand why the other girl had grabbed her, until she realized none of the spells were damaging her. She looked on in horror as the girl even started bleeding. Distracted by her hatred of Shadows, she completely forgot to turned down any protection. Now it's too late. Brynhild couldn't face the human that saved her and tried to look at everyone else. "You idiot. . .” she muttered, mostly referring to herself.
At least she was still alive.
Some of the others weren't as fortunate. Falling one after the other, she counted off four Users that needed help. Brynhild barely remembered anything about the time she fell unconscious, but the person who helped back then didn't seem to be here today. The universe apparently decided she had a debt that needed to be paid. It did not matter how exhausted she felt; no one else could revive these people, and she couldn't possibly leave them like this. Going back over the scene, those who went down first should be prioritized: the girl with her friend, blonde kid, the other girl then the gentleman. They suffered enough without having to wait even longer.
“Don't traumatize them, Berserker.” Her Persona just wanted to keep fighting, upset that he never even tried to hit the dragon. She felt the same, but knew they had to move on. Brynhild focused on making this spell as nonviolent as possible, which usually involved a syringe party. Yes, an oversized needle hovered over body in turn as she healed each person, satisfying the need to stab things. Not being able to confirm one's safety before moving on to the next bothered her, but she didn't have time to wait around that long.
A single revive use up more energy than all of her other spells. After taking care of the old man, she fell to her knees, physically stable but too exhausted to leave right now.
